Mojom, I did not call you a socialist, but one of the links you gave is to the World Socialist Website, or the article was taken from that site. That's what I was refering to.

"World Socialist Website
28 January 2004"

Excerpted from.
www.countercurrents.org...

The above is one of the links you gave. I did not resort to any name calling you, but was stating that in this topic I do not trust a socialist source, or socialist website, as they are trying to sell their own agenda.
This is what I said in my previous post....

"read the links and stop believing everything the world socialist website says..... "

Where did i resort to name calling in there? Isn't that link you gave to a socialist report?

So, they are still investigating. Now 3 years after it was used as the Primary reason for launching a War and invading Iraq. Not to mention the difference between 'WMD Programmes' and 'Stockpiles of WMD's' which was one of the ways 'The Story' changed mid stream. But let's look further, using their own words.

It very well could be something else that is being over looked here. Perhaps there were Weapons there & the U.S. did Know this. Also, perhaps they did find them too and chose not to reveal their discovery though. Surely you'd ask, 'But why the hell would they do that??' Could it be that these Weapons and materials that Saddam allegedly was going to use against the U.S. and others actually came from us?? That maybe it was the U.S. who was supplying these things?? We did in the past after all. We have also pulled out the U.N. inspectors who are now no longer allowed to search except on the boarders. The reason could be that if they discovered and traced the materials to their origin, that it would then point right back to the U.S. Just something others way want to think about....

Mojom, I don't think you understand that the above report comes from the UN, and UNMOVIC, not from the US. The UN is the agency that is investigating this, through UNMOVIC, and btw there is a lot of red tape into coming out with a final statement to present all the evidence. Just look at the time it normally takes the UN to reach a conclusion and decide to do something about it. This is not the only issue where the UN, UNMOVIC in this case, takes a long time to decide that they have found enough evidence.

But, if you look at the evidence they show, you can see that there were engines to missiles that were banned from Iraq after the first Gulf War, but they were in possesion of Iraq in 2003.... Also the satellite pictures showing the buildings that still existed in 2003 and somehow dissapeared in 2004, show that Saddam and his loyalists were getting rid of those factories, which were under surveillance by the UNMOVIC.

You are also forgetting that the countries who have been giving parts for wmd and selling weapons to Iraq, and others lately, have been some European countries, Russia and China at least. It is not the first time these countries have been selling weapons and other materials to Iraq and other terrorist sponsored countries.

These are some of the links that show what these countries have been doing and keep doing, as well as other related links.

BTW, how did the story change mid stream? I think in here you don't understand either what they were refering to in the UNMOVIC report. BTW, you should post links as to the information you are quoting or if you are claiming something that requires back up information. Links are some of your best friends in ATS.

The link I gave was from CounterCurrents.org. World Socialist is WSWS.org. I don't think CounterCurrents is the same and I don't know if they have the same articles there or not. In either case I wasn't intentionally using them for their personal political stance. I knew the reference I was looking for, which was the statements made by Powell. CounterCurrents was just the top of the list when I googled for a link to it that's all.

Also, sorry I took the 'Socialist' comment personally. I guess a took it a bit out of context. I just get tired of hearing things like 'you're just a Liberal such 'n such' or similar type statements and having them thrown at me. Especially cause I do not consider myself in league with ANY group or political platform. But I realize that wasn't what you were saying, so please excuse my erroneous defensiveness!

Its alright, we all make honest mistakes, but seriously it is better to usually find out the original story because many facts or the facts themselves can be molded by some sites to fit their own agenda.

Of course saddam had weapons of mass destruction !! He used them on his own people. And of course he had ties with bin laden. The new york times, in a very small article and very little coverage by the mainstream media, confessed they had info about the ties between iraq and bin laden prior to the 9/11 commission releasing there report of no connection. Now why do you think they withheld that information. You dont need to be a UN weapons inspector to figure that one out.
