 Knew this was coming
I would contend that yes, someone else has lied more then Bush who has held that office. One of our dear ex-presidents has even gone so far as to lie
under oath. Bush's lies are disturbing, as all presidential lies are, but lying under oath, in my opinion, is a lot worse!

Oath just means that he promises to NOT lie in that parcitular moment. Either way, a lie is a lie. It's not like we expect president to lie when NOT
under oath, or do we? I see all lies as equal, oath or no oath. It might be more "morally damaging" to see a president lie under oath, because of
our belief that oath creates a special atmosphere - it's all formalities and semantics! In reality, it's still a lie, and a lie is a lie is a
lie.
Bush must be the worst liar, because even if there were presidents who lied more than Bush, they got away with it! Bush's lies just keep jumping
out... as far as psychopaths go, he's not so successful.

Clinton lied about SEX!!!! IT'S #IN' SEX!!!!! Bush lies every damn day. He was elected to serve the people, not take advantage of them.
Don't get me wrong, I hate Clinton too, but Bush is just a tool who is doing absolutely no good for this country.

The difference is that if, while under oath, the president lies, he subverts the entire judicial system. It is assumed by our courts that when you say
something under oath, you are telling the truth as you know it. If you're ever discovered to be lying, there are stiff penalties. Well, stiff
penalties unless you're the president of the country and have a fantastic spin machine. Without this assumption, an eye witness would not be of any
use in a trial. Say, for instance, 4 people saw someone gun down a pedestrian, and all 4 could identify that person, but there was no physical
evidence. If it's not assumed that you're telling the truth under oath, those 4 people's testamony is worthless, and the killer goes free.

So what happens when you illegally divert (re: steal)700 million for the war in Afghanistan in defiance of Congressional appropriations, at the risk
of our troops there, to a failed war in Iraq? IS that ok? Is that worse that lying about sex?

Lying about sex. What a quaint way to refer to lying about rape. Lying about sexual harassment.
As for the illegal diversion, I wasn't aware it was illegal. Could you give a source? What law did he break by doing that?

They ALL lie, it's the nature of the position. The question should be " has anyone been CAUGHT lying as much as Bush."

In American politics I would say Jimmy Carter came across as fairly honest.

let's see - if you are talking about total number of lies Clinto blows Bush out of the water. If you are speaking in terms of how bad the lie was,
Nixon comes mind.

I think I presented my topic the wrong way. I intended people to look at the link and see what the things he said were. I was just trying to expose
bush for what he is.

speak simply without telling a lie."fool me once.shame on you,,blah, blah ,blah." He cant even tell
an old hillbilly saying without lying..
A freekin expensive embarassment. Where is Lee Harvey when you need him,for cheney of course. All bush needs is a pretzel.

Clinton lied under oath, big deal. an oath mean jack all to me. Clinton lied about a consenting sexual relation with an adult... wow! i'm sure most
of us have done that at least once in our lives, but how many of you have told lies that result in the death of thousands and thousands of innocent
people overseas so that you can get a few extra bucks on your pocket... i think the question should be 'has any other president told so many horrific
lies... coz the answer would be no

Wow, you dislike his politics so much that you would want him to die? Dang, only person I've ever felt that way about is Ashcroft, and I hoped
he'd go by natural causes (If he gets assassinated, we can kiss all of our freedoms goodbye). Oh, and by the way (I know this is really going to
upset you) that's opinion, not fact Enjoy your rage

Hmm...This won't do if I only respond this way to Colonel, so I have to do it to you, as well
DOUBLE STANDARD
One president violated our nations very foundation of the judicial branch, thereby severing 1/3rd of the American government. The other may
have been lying about WMDs (Show me any factual proof that they weren't there. We haven't found them, but that doesn't mean they weren't there.
Lybia told us about a bunch of chemical weapons burried in someone's backyard) and you condemn him as the most horrific liar of all time.....Tell me,
what do you know about Andrew Jackson?

What rape? What sexual harrassment?
Listen, when Congress, a law-making body, allocates funds that you request for a specific program and you spend it on something else, that's illegal!
You are defrauding the taxpayers!
