Hmmm that still doesn't explain how stuff is transported AWAY from the tunnel system to get it to where it needs to go.
Having roads underground next to the tunnel would be pointless. You would still need access to the the above ground road system to transport stuff to and from the tunnel.
Oh btw the pic of the tunneling machine with USAF on it was contracted by the USAF (not owned) from REECo to drill a 750-foot tunnel into Little Skull Mountain to study digging out of underground missile complexes after an attack. And it's a conventional powered machine, not nuclear.
