Two former Bank of China managers and their wives have been given lengthy jail sentences in the United States for stealing $485m (£320m).
Xu Choafan, Xu Guojun, Kuang Wan Fang and Yu Ying Yi had also been convicted of passport fraud and of laundering the money through banks and casinos.
The Las Vegas court also ordered the four to pay back $482m.
Prosecutors said the convictions showed foreign nationals could not "live off their ill-gotten gains in the US".

What the heck is going on here? Why ha sit taken 5 years to jail these people?
Why am I not able to find anything on the internet relating to their initial arrest? I tried a search for 'bank of china managers arrested', but nothing comes up except for this sudden news..
So I changed the search a little (Chinese bank managers arrested) and still can only find the same type of stuff, the oldest being from Sept. 08. and that's from a gambling site www.onlinecasinoextra.com...
Is this for real or is there some sort of game going on here, especially with the apparent build up of Chinese military (see related thread).
Well, these people have got 25 years inside, after being arrested in 2004, found guilty in august 2008 and sent to jail now.. Either I am drastically out of touch with how the prison systems work these days or something is very wrong here.
25 years is just about long enough for everyone to forget that this 'crime' and the 'missing' money ever existed..
