Public health experts worry that another potentially lethal pig-borne disease could establish itself among farmworkers in the United States. Unlike the new swine flu virus, Streptococcus suis doesn’t pass from person to person. But it’s also more virulent, killing about one in 10 people in whom infection progresses to full-blown disease. “There’s potential for that pathogen to cause serious human disease,” said Gregory Gray, a University of Iowa specialist in animal-borne disease epidemiology.

From the looks of things, these diseases in one form or another are here to stay. Especially, since it seems it was already here?

Just read about this in Laurie Garrett's article in Newsweek- seems like H1N1 was initiated on a farm in Wisconsin in '05. Anyone else with details- please share.
Peace.

I am of the strong believe that all this food alterations, GMO and the tampering with food supplies in order to produce supper foods are the reason we are now having all this genetic viruses.

Leave to man to play with nature and nature will come back and bite all of us in our butts.

Even fish is now been tested with human hormones to create bigger fish.

Nasty stuff going on with companies like Monsanto we have not clue what they have been doing since the nighties with our food supply.

Marg- called on Monsanto when they were a client of an old company. VERY scary place. They make Aspartame, as well as Ag. products, and are derived directly from the former group of IG Farben (Auschwitz). They actually SUE farmers for NOT using their products. I'd give anything to see them go out of business...

I agree, I have a list of products from the organic growers of American that tells which foods are been mixed with GMO, and their site shows what foods are been tested and the results on rats.

Some nasty stuff, that will make anybody scream if they knew.

They don't care about people but profits.

You're stone cold correct about that. Cargill, Monsanto, Novartis, sanofi-Aventis, Chiron, Merck- all came out of Germany. We brought the "scientists" here after the war not just to make bombs and missiles, but to make drugs and ag. products.

Have you looked up the CODEX act that is soon to be passed in the US and EU? It forbids supplements to be marketed w/o FDA or the equivalent EU agencys' approvals. So- our vitamins, minerals, herbs- all that we take to stay well, will fall under that.

The FDA will also soon "own" the "certified organic" label- which is crap, because they follow no rules of orgo farming.

We have actually started growing it all in our garden-or as much as we can- buy from farmers directly, and go only to the grocery for items that can't be sourced locally- TP, aluminum foil, etc. Even that's a mess- for obvious reasons.

How can anyone remain strong or immune when our food is plastic, our environment is polluted (beyond repair in many places) and we're being hosed by chemtrails? To be honest, I'm surprised the Earth's made it to 6 billion-what with Prozac and oxytocin in the water, etc. As regards flu- take supplements, sleep, and eat as well as you can, because it won't just be a virus that threatens our collective health in the months and years to come..

An interesting side-bar to this thread:

lab-engineered antibodies to be injected into monkeys to try to stop HIV (or the primate version, SIV) infection.

Could this method be used in the flu vaccines to come, and if so, what are the repercussions?

Do you have a website for this? I would be interested as I think would others.
