Thanks to MRWUPY for the headline.

Chicken lovers across the US are printing KFC coupons. good for a free lunch.
and sponsored by The Great Oprah Winfrey.

www.oprah.com...

Sounds great. 2 pieces and a biscuit, with a couple if sides, all for nothing.
But some people are having trouble redeeming the coupons.

weblogs.baltimoresun.com...

i wouldn't call them horror stories. But hey, if you're going to make the offer, then tell your franchises!!

Only a couple of hours left but there is still time to print a coupon, or 4..so give it a whirl. Let's see if the offer pans out for YOU, and if there really is a such thing as a FREE LUNCH.

I printed my coupon and I'll find out tomorrow if they honor it or not. If they don't I'll file a full report in this thread.

It is true that you are what you eat. I'll tell you what free coupon or not I am not going to join the rest of the crowd afflicted with obesity and carotid artery disease.

I thought people would have learned from 'Super Size.'

Feel lucky if your voucher is rejected.

thx KK

It's grilled. So there's a little compensation in the grease department.
Plus. At manager's discretion, meaning they can give you two pieces of anything they want..I would suspect wings would be it.

then of course, there are plenty of people that can't buy ONE chicken wing.
You could print out the coupons, and give them to a hungry person.
There are a couple of selfless people I know, that have chosen to do just that.
My wife was actually able to print ours. So I'll report back on the results too.

I got that as well. I clicked it out of the way and hit print again and it gave me my coupon.

Must be a glitch in the site or something.

Funny you mention giving the voucher away, reminds me of personal experience.

When buying books at the University bookstore I was given a voucher for a free small pizza at Hungry Howies pizza. I left the bookstore which was in Ypsilanti, MI (EMU) and gave my voucher to a shabby street guy not far outside the store. Thinking I would help the guy.

Turns out they arrested the street guy as the pizza shop employees called cops knowing the guy wasn't a student.

I know of the arrest because I later got a pizza (younger could eat bad) from the shop and explained to employees my gift of charity weeks earlier. They got a laugh out of that.

Just the fact that Oprah is giving away free fried chicken that she could be eating herself is astounding.

Just a polite correction/ factoid. Everyone has carotid arteries, they supply blood to one's brain.

en.wikipedia.org...

It is if they get clogged or blocked you have a problem.

Just sayin'.

May I ask one question? Who the Hell would want to eat Kentucky Fried Chicken? I can cook better than than that blind drunk, and hallucinating about giving the Colonel a good cussing.

thanks for the info. I went to the site to print my coupons but there were instructions that I had to install some kind of software in order to print their coupons. I thought that was odd because whenever I've printed coupons from the internet in the past, I just print the coupon from the screen. I'm too suspicious to let my computer install this software, so I'll have to pass. Hope the rest of you guys enjoy your chicken though.

Someone who has been laid off, and for whom every dollar is a blessing.
A decent meal, even if it isn't fancy, can really lift someone's spirits.

And to answer personally.
I also like their cole slaw.

McNuggets:
Too much MSG. "makes you crave it for a fortnight"
I've always thought McNuggets were the most artificial of the fast food chicken products.

O YUKKKK guys!!!!!

What the heck you want to eat that stuff for anyway?

From its own site it shows you how disgusting it is..
www.kfc.com...

(Of course they don't list how many preservatives they stuff it with so they can still serve it to you after 2yrs in the back cupboard under the rat droppings)

Compared to ordinary chicken? It isn't even in the same food group anymore.
(Is crap a food group?)

From the same serving size..

They manage to strip 10% off the protein,
Add 5 times more salt
Treble the saturated fat
Add a liberal helping of Gluten, eggs, milk and wheat for your 'allergy needs'
ADD 9 TIMES THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF FAT!!.
Stuff it with MSG.
And don't forget the E's

You'd be taking the healthier option by eating the freakin coupon.
