I don't know much about Somalia but I imagine there is a nice area that doesnt attract warlord behavior.

I get the point of the clip and all but it's very shallow and narrow and doesnt take much into account other than a bunch of warlords are murdering the unarmed for the aid that gets dropped in. Unless every individual living in Somalia is a sociopath or a functional retard the case as represented in the clip isn't worth much more than the laughs it may generate.

Somalia, the beaches are nice, you go in for a swim come out with three extra toes and leukemia.

You know, I find it funny that you try and make this a "libertarian" joke, when the governments of other countries are the reason that Somalia is in shambles.....

The video is humorous I'll admit but as a fairly vehement Libertarian, I find Democrat conceptions of Libertarianism even funnier. They tend to forget the weight Libertarians place on LOCAL government that is naturally more representative and aligned with LOCAL interests. Public beach at a local swimming hole could be established and maintained by local commission.

How much "public beaches" are directly managed by the US federal government? Can the idiots who made this tyranny loving film answer that? This is typically an issue handled at the state level or smaller. I am familiar with Minnesota quite well and can say that with 10,000+lakes it has alot of lakefront beaches. While not all of these beaches are "public" that which are seem to suffice the demands of "public beach" goers- there isn't any crisis in "public beach" shortage. And of that "public beach" most are maintained at a local county or city level. Hmmm...


So in summary, while the video is mildly funny, I'd ask the creators for a simple favor- shut their dumb-@ss, donkey-loving, breadline-dependent, socialist mouths before they make anymore crap movies.

I'd be interested to hear an explanation as to how a country overun with Despotic Warlords and massive intervention on an international scale consitutes "libertarianism".

Socialists are funny, not smart....not even a little bit smart, but they are certainly funny.

i think teh parallel they are trying to draw is the lack of government,lack of taxes, and freedom to do what one wants...

On the topic of the video I feel it had to have been made by one of two people. Someone who truly doesn't understand Libertarianism or more likely, someone who is Libertarian and is taking a shot at all the ignorant people of the world who aren't.

Animal I find this thread kinda outrageous as by being confused about the differences between Anarchists and Libertarians you look set to also confuse others.

But because it has no government it’s not Libertarian at all.
In fact it’s a fundamental ideological contradiction for any Libertarian to say so; this is because one core belief all Libertarians are supposed to share is that “you may do anything you please, providing what you do does not violate the freedoms of others to do as they please”
Therefore no Libertarian supports theft, rape, murder and other actions that violate the rights others. Therefore (short of coming up with some new system to replace government) no libertarian will ever deny government has some i.e. the need to protect others from assaulting the freedoms of others.

Anyone who claims otherwise is simply an anarchist masscading as a Libetarian (and their ideology does allow them to do that without contradiction!).
But for me anarchism made sense when I was age 12 to 14; but seemed quite incomplete post age 15.
