2012 was never stated as being the end, instead it was stated as the beginning of a new era. A great event would come upon humanity that will change the current status of our existence. My theory is that by 2012 human beings will have created artificial intelligence sophisticated enough to gain complete consciousness and the ability, through nano-biotechnology, to reproduce. I don't think we will be threatened by this synthetic life or will even gain knowledge of its existence for some time. These machines would look just like us, have organs just like us, except where we have cells, they have nano-synthetic cells that can repair themselves, are disease free, and are basically to building blocks to the next evolutionary step in life. These cells could be integrated in humans and animals to prolong health and life, and most importantly advance our brain's capability to where we will be able to compute information.

Pretty interesting theory i guess...

But you honestly think that in 3years we'll have "robots" that look indistinguishable from us?
They will have organs and can repair themselves?

Dunno man..... i think your theory is plausible, but not in 3 years.
That is just way too soon.

I know it's just a theory you have but why only 3 years?
surely it can't happen in such a short time frame?
I know advances have been made that we mortals know nothing about---certainly on the quantum physics side, but 3 years seems far- fetched.
I understand "the singularity", where man= machine was predicted to happen around 2028. That's years away.

well what about we were supposed to have flying cars in the 70s...

we still dont have a flying car, although we do have Driving Planes now (TOTALLY DOESNT COUNT)

but yea, once those little buggers start to replicate 24/7 they will fill up pretty quick :!
