"Approximately 140 participants will attend, of whom about two-thirds come from Europe and the balance from North America," the release stated. "About one-third is from government and politics, and two-thirds are from finance, industry, labor, education and communications. The meeting is private in order to encourage frank and open discussion."
This year, according to Estulin's sources, the meeting's talking points will focus on finances, namely the future of the U.S. dollar, the economy and unemployment levels.

Estulin also claims in a statement to have obtained a pre-meeting booklet sent out to attendees that presents a discussion of two economic options: "Either a prolonged, agonizing depression that dooms the world to decades of stagnation, decline and poverty ... or an intense-but-shorter depression that paves the way for a new sustainable economic world order, with less sovereignty but more efficiency."

Our man at Bilderberg: Close, but still no cabal

With the annual secret meeting of the global elite only hours away, the shadowy corporatocracy remains tantalisingly elusive, writes Charlie Skelton

I'm anxiously awaiting news. To pass the time, would any of you like to speculate on which horrible option these guys decide on would be better?

I'm remembering when Estulin visited Portland last year in March and told us that in a year and a half it would pretty much be over with
He advised us to get passports and get the heck out. But I don't think there's anywhere to run to. He specifically mentioned Argentina for us pale people because he said we'd want to blend in. But I know people who live there and I had a long talk with one of my good friends about it. If they do what Estulin says they are planning, I can't imagine things in Argentina being that much better.

The world’s elite will meet in Greece today in an annual gathering of the "Bilderberg Group" the source of many conspiracy theories and books on the “New World Order”.

Security officials in the Greek capital are reported to have locked down the area around the meeting, reported in The Times as the luxury 5 star hotel Nafsika Astir Palace in the Voulgiameni district of Athens which will last for two days.

A bomb attack by the "Revolutionary Struggle" has already been reported at 3:30pm on Tuesday 12 May on the Vouliagmenis Avenue in the Greek capital within the vicinity of the location of the Bilderberg meeting on the Greek Eurobank branch with a 5 kilo bomb.

The President of the World Bank Robert Zoellick and Tim Geittner the US Treasury Secretary are reported by sources in The Times report as having "unspecified business" in Europe for the next two days.

The agenda of the Bilderberg Group this year is reported to be looking at a "prolonged agonising depression that dooms the world for decades of stagnation decline and poverty, or an intense but shorter depression that paves the way for a new sustainable economic world order, with less sovereignty but more efficiency".

The UK is sending representatives from the government, who may include it is reported past participant Lord Mandelson. Other past attendees of the Bilderberg Group from the UK have included Ed Balls (2006),Tony Blair (1993),Peter Carington, 6th Baron Carrington (Steering Committee member) Kenneth Clarke (1993, 1998,[23] 2006[24] & 2007[25]), former Chancellor of the Exchequer, Denis Healey (founder and Steering Committee member) George Osborne (2006)[26] (2008) Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer 2004-Present; member of the opposition 2001-Present, Eric Roll (1964, 1966, 1967, 1973-1975, 1977-1999) (Bilderberg Steering Committee),[27] Department of Economic Affairs, 1964, later Bilderberg Group Chairman, Edward Heath, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher [29].

A London Daily News correspondent based in Athens Evangelos Andreotis who is based near the Athens Astir Palace has said that "security in Athens is especially tight with Anarchist groups and protests already mobilised to try and disrupt the meeting of this group. Greek police and the government have ordered a no tolerance ethos to policing the event, with heavily armed soldiers and police in the streets of Athens".

Shouldn't some "regular" people have to be present at a Bilderberg meeting?
To UN-secret it. No secret meetings and all that.

They ARE meeting to figure out what to do with the people of the world right?
Aren't we the people of the world?

It gets so clear as time goes on.
We have nothing to say about what they do -
They just pretend we have a say about what they do.
We don't and we never have.

But we do have a say about what WE do.
It will be a great day -
When each human realizes they are in charge of themselves -
makes a conscious effort to do the right thing for the sake of his neighbors -
and stops this ridiculous elitist run world.

WE did not put them in charge of us. THEY put themselves in charge of us.
We just failed to question it.
There's still time to do that.

Spinky, that's sort of the point. To them we are expendable masses. Best kept ignorant and powerless. Slaves work the hardest when they believe they are free.

There's an update on infowars.

Veteran investigative journalist Jim Tucker has uncovered Bilderberg’s 2009 agenda, which includes the plan for a global department of health, a global treasury and a shortened depression rather than a longer economic downturn.

The article goes on to explain that a longer depression would hurt the pocketbooks of industrialists and that the Bilderbergs are having some problems getting everyone on board with their agenda. Really? Cause I was so looking forward to my new shock collar [/sarcasm]
