Must have missed that meeting, where we've signed an "ism" contract.

Brilliant video, perhaps AJ should have sent that to Obama instead of
his rant to the WashHouse.

Have a star my friend.

Edit:
Thinking about it, perhaps there is real validity in proof of ownership of ones self. What has any corporation or government got over any human, a signature, that's it! Perhaps Mary Croft's pdf has real meaning compared to that "ism" contract which they believe cedes any liberty or freedom.

talk about hideous propaganda.

A few notes:

1.) It's more "America is great and the rest of the world sucks" ... I'm an American and even i'm getting tired of hearing how great we think we are as we borrow more and more from places like China.

2.) The cartoon is about "stay away from ism's" but says capitalism is the way. Talk about a good bullcrap story. Instead of calling it "Capitalism" they call it "Capitalistic ways" Gotta drop the "ism" that made me laugh

3.) They very end of the cartoon said that government regulation seeks to rob everyone of their freedoms by offering religious tolerance, etc etc. So can someone please explain this to me:

A.) The video was all white people first off. no minorities in there .. seems strange that a country who touts "the most diverse on the planet" and a cartoon that talks about how great America is....that they'd seemingly forget to leave out minorities. Strange?

B.) How is saying that a publicly funded, tax payer paid-for office (like a state capital for example) cannot display the 10 commandments, taking away freedom? Sure, if you're Christian, you might think it is taking them away, but this country is built on freedom of religion. So why should the state show favoritism towards your religion and not someone else's?
And if you say "who cares about their religion" then perhaps you should go rethink what you think about America. Because you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Muslims, Atheists, etc, all pay taxes too. Why should your beliefs be the official state religion?

They shouldn't.

If that is "taking away freedoms"

then go drink some ism juice of your own, and keep on living that fantasy.

My ism juice is realism

and realism says you need a healthy mix of regulation and free market to survive.

without one or the other you get an extreme to either side.

Enron anyone?

A Great Video, and a good watch. I really enjoyed that. So very true too, isn't it amazing what some could see for the future all the way back then? It pains me that people who see the future right now are put down as being paranoid, and fear mongers. Just goes to show, some can see into the future.

You have to take into consideration that this was made 50 years ago when the demographics of the USA were different.

It is warning about things like out of control government spending, borrowing, involvement.

I don't feel that your religion argument has anything to do with the video.

Capitalism is an ISM but it is what the economy was founded on. It is warning of socialism and communism.

it's typical politics "your isms suck, my ism is the best, don't believe in isms"

You fall for capitalism because those people say all ism's are bad for you, and just like the cartoon they dont call it "capitalism" they call it "capitalistic thinking"

as for the religion aspect - it was the cartoon that introduced the idea, not me.

So as it pertains to relevance (cartoon/religion argument) it does actually relate.....

This situation is exactly what I have tried many times to explain. It amazes me that there are some people that will argue with you about the 2x4 you are holding in your hand. They will argue that you are not holding a 2x4 in your hand, right up to the point where they are hit between the eyes with it. Deny, deny, deny, twist the truth to suite the purpose. Then cry out the loudest when it all comes crashing down.

That was stupid frankly and it wasn't prophetic, its basically describing capitalism and fears of socialism/communism. I don't feel like trusting a cartoon when it comes to getting good information.

They fail to mention or predict our trade deficit, sky high debt, farm subsities, how poorly students rank compared to out countries ect. We don't have capitalism now or for the past many years since it requires government regulation to keep it functioning, and that hasn't happened. Working capitalist system is the best there is I'd say, but we don't and won't get that.

Evidently you didn't get the point. In a way it did address these problems.
Read between the lines. When this country turned its back on interdependence and self-reliance,it all started to unravel.
"Isims" are essentially government programs like "farm subsidies" Where production limits are in place not to help farmers,(as they would have you believe) It is to raise the profits of the export tarriffs on inflated commidity prices.

What or whose point are you talking about? "It" addressed what problems? I mentioned farm subsities since the video talked about how great our farming is. "When this country turned its back on interdependence and self-reliance, it all started to unravel" That's pretty general, can't really even say anything to that. Being more specific would be nice.

The thing that many pro-capitalists don't understand is there does need to be regulation in order for it to work for everyone...and I'm not talking about anything about Obama in case some of you out there are thinking about that.

Do you believe that massive spending and debt doesn't happen in a capitalist system? That seems a bit off, Bush was about as pro-capitalist (or pro-business) as it got, and he more than doubled the national debt. So, in the end I think its fair to say that debt is irrespective of what system is used, it's simply choices. Other countries that are socialist don't have near the debt to GDP ratio we do.

The problem is the Fed. I can safely say, a socialist or communist country that owned its printing press would be better off than a "capitalist" (we're not capitalist though, since the rich have the scale tipped in their favor) country that are slaves to a private bank.
