The reason i'm inclined to imply a Bioshield connection thingy is the timing of this and the anti-depakote research coming out in full force is impeccible.

Moms Who Take Epilepsy Drug Valproate (Depakote) Have Children With Lower IQs, New Study Says

Researchers followed about 260 children born to pregnant women in the United States and United Kingdom between 1999 and 2004. They found that by age three, toddlers whose mothers had taken valproate had an average IQ of 92 compared to scores of between 98 and 101 for children of women who had taken other drugs, including lamotrigine, phenytoin, and carbamazepine.

Should anyone be surprised?

Visit most alternative media sites, even ATS, and you'll see plenty of idiots saying "I'm ready to take up arms against the government!" or "They'll have to kill me to take away my weapons!" and things like that.

That's just an excuse.

The govt knows 99.99% of these people are couch warriors who aren't going to do crap, even if the ghost of Some Founding Father told them to.

In fact anyone seriously considering bringing the pain to the government probably isn't talking about it on the internet (openly at least).

This is little more than an attempt to keep us all reading from the official news sources so we can all be on the same Kool-aid.

I think it is even more simple than that. As the document itself states:

This product is one in a series of reference aids designed to provide operational and intelligence advice and assistance to other elements of DHS, as well as state, local, and regional fusions centers. DHS/I&A intends this background information to assist federal, state, local, and tribal homeland security and law enforcement officials in conducting analytic activities. This product provides definitions for key terms and phrases that often appear in DHS analysis that addresses the nature and scope of the threat that domestic, non-Islamic extremism poses to the United States.

When they say: to assist federal, state, local, and tribal homeland security and law enforcement officials in conducting analytic activities they mean tracking down REAL terrorists. Like you said 99.99% of us are NEVER going to do anything but talk big on the internet. However, the LONG list of potential groups that would harbor 'native terrorists' is intended to help locate potential threats.

A revolution does not necessarily involve violence. No one in their right minds wants a full scale bloodbath, but everyone who doesn't have a slave mentaility must have a breaking point at which they simply won't be pushed around anymore, if their voice fails. Violence is a tool used by governments around the world everyday - at what point should that tool be turned back upon the oppressor? Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

What is your 'line' and what would you do if it was crossed?

JFK sez: 'Those who would make peaceful revolutions impossible make violent ones inevitable.'

Seems like all governments are control structures, by definition.
Potential threats, to a first approximation, is the category including everybody who is not totally concerned with DOING WHAT THEY ARE TOLD NO MATTER WHAT.
Alternative media, as a rule, does not tend to increase the number of persons totally intent on DOING WHAT THEY ARE TOLD NO MATTER WHAT.

A democratic government (or "democratic", or a republic, or whatever et cetera) is still a government...It is not surprising to me to find any government sorting out the governed in this manner...I kinda don't see how it can be surprising to anybody who likes to be realistic...

They could never fully target a website like ATS because it is a forum. Some of the members here, like myself, have been very supportive of the administration. So I doubt they would put in place something so all-encompassing like that. And by that I mean shut down the site, etc. Jail us.

The "list" is getting larger by the day . Surely a point will be reached whereby there will be so many " potential " terrorists on the list that it will become useless .

If the current levels of discontent continue to rise , it might just be a lot easier to compile a list of those who are not regarded as a potential terrorist threat .
With their definition of "terrorist" widening in scope weekly, it should make for a shorter read.

Anything which challenges the status quo will certainly be getting plenty of attention .

"Sir, I'm placing you under arrest for using your brain, so please just put it on the hood of your car where I can see it."

So does anyone know if any citizen of the USA is NOT being label as a terrorist now? I think they have got something on everyone. If not, then it's gotta be pretty darn close!

With the state of affairs in this country--this subversive move to restrict free speech--when the hell are people going to start thinking for THEMSELVES instead of relying on what the "approved" media chooses to report / not report?

I'm reading from the document...

The terrorists are:

alternative media: A term used to describe various information sources that provide a forum for interpretations of events and issues that differ radically from those presented in mass media products and outlets.

So if you differ from the mainstream media on anything, you're a terrorist... 9/11 truth, swine flu, economy...

anarchist extremism :Many embrace some of the radical philosophical components of anticapitalist, antiglobalization, communist, socialist, and other movements.

Yeah, we can't be antiglobalization... doesn't matter that most americans are against NAFTA and globalization in general.

This is the most disturbing, basically saying protesters are terrorists:

direct action: Lawful or unlawful acts of civil disobedience ranging from protests to property destruction or acts of violence. This term is most often used by single-issue or anarchist extremists to describe their activities.

So if you're a LAWFUL PROTESTER engaging in CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE, you're a terrorist.

leaderless resistance :A strategy that stresses the importance of individuals and small cells acting independently and anonymously outside formalized organizational structures to enhance operational security and avoid detection. It is used by many types of domestic extremists.

Doesn't matter that a successful organisation must work on this principle...

militia movement : A rightwing extremist movement composed of groups or individuals who adhere to an antigovernment ideology often incorporating various conspiracy theories. Members oppose most federal and state laws, regulations, and authority (particularly firearms laws and regulations) and often conduct paramilitary training designed to resist
perceived government interference in their activities or to overthrow the U.S. Government through the use of violence.

Doesn't matter that we have the right to form militias and to train to keep in check the tyranny... Doesn't matter that the FEDs are taking over everything, breaching many states laws and the tenth amendment. Doesn't matter that firearms laws and regulations are against the second amendment.

Even worse:

patriot movement :A term used by rightwing extremists to link their
beliefs to those commonly associated with the American Revolution. The patriot movement primarily comprises violent antigovernment groups such as militias and sovereign citizens. (also: Christian patriots, patriot group, Constitutionalists, Constitutionist)

Yeah those who want the constitution, WHAT A BUNCH OF TERRORISTS!

tax resistance movement :Groups or individuals who vehemently believe
taxes violate their constitutional rights. Among their beliefs are that wages are not income, that paying income taxes is voluntary, and that the 16th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which allowed Congress to levy taxes on income, was not properly ratified. Members have been known to advocate or engage in criminal activity and plot acts of violence and terrorism in an attempt to advance their extremist goals. They often target government entities such as the Internal Revenue Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. (also: tax protest movement, tax freedom movement, antitax movement)

Doesn't matter that the FED is private, and the IRS has lost a bunch of lawsuits because the income tax laws ARE BS.

And the worst of it all, they put those with neo-nazi, skinheads, black block... the worst things out there.

Another disgusting document from the Terrorist Homeland False-Flag Department.

Welcome to the new Germany. It's funny how they say history repeats itself. Well this is proof. They may take away my freedom, they may take away my liberties, but they will never take away my spirit. They have NO power over me, unless given from above.

I'm sure Gandhi was labeled a terrorist, as well. When the government starts routinely rounding up people who practice non-violent resistance, that's when you know that the system is broken beyond repair. They can label me anything they want, but until I go to jail for distributing non-violent literature or posting on sites like ATS, I'll work within the system.

Well it's official then: This is the end of free-speech. You are now under fascism officially. If you so much as disagree with the government and official media, you are a terrorist and thereby under the Patriot act detainable indefinitely in a FEMA camp, undergoing torture and possible execution.

By the way I just realised ATS is an alternative-media, does this mean they will shut down ATS?

That's an extreme reaction, don't you think? To go from "some people on this site may be potential terrorists" to "Let's round up anyone who disagrees with us and execute them."

I'm not saying the FEMA camps aren't real, but I think if they are, they will only send those who they believe might engage in violent resistance against the government. There is no universally agreed upon definition of what a terrorist is, but I'm pretty sure everyone agrees that to be a terrorist one must employ violence.

That report was not recalled; however, the department said it has instituted changes to more carefully review these reports before they are sent to local law enforcement agencies.

That's exactly what the document says: alternative media is terrorism. You cannot have anti-government, anti-globalization, anti-media views, or you are a terrorist.

It's not an extreme reaction. Read in between the lines.

What's your source? The article I posted specifically states-

"The lexicon was not an authorized I&A product, and it was recalled as soon as management discovered it had been released without authorization," said Amy Kudwa, Homeland Security spokeswoman.

"This product is not, nor was it ever, in operational use,"
