Excellent post! This is exactly what Alex Jones was warning about last week and he got criticized as being a wacko for it. For all you out there who criticize Jones, why don't you just get over his rants and listen to the message. He's been proven correct so often that it just makes no sense that you ridicule him. I don't think there should be quarantines. It should be voluntary and can act to thin the herd through natural selection. IF there was a rip roaring flu pandemic going on, (which there isn't), and people were stupid enough to go to the MOVIES, or any other place where they are jammed together with potentially contaminated people, they deserve what they get.

BTW, I work in a huge hospital in Houston, doing direct patient care, and I ride public transportation. How many cases of the flu have I seen? Zero. It could have turned into something of world importance, but as it is, it's about to fizzle out. It's just media hype to distract us.

I just read how it's dieing down in mexico too. This little scare could be over in the next month. Its harder for the virus to survive in the summer, the only issue is winter.. but thats many months away.

I dont think the US has the ability to put the country in quarantine anyways, just maybe the few select areas with known outbreaks.

As I said where there is smoke there is fire, and there is no guarantee in my humble opinion that this Swine Flu is the fire, and may merely be part of the smoke to mask the simmering fire of something like an already evidenced quick killing with certain mortality rate if not treated within scant hours meningitis or some other potentially even deadlier disease than that or the Swine Flu that might soon or eventually be released.

All of this is a threat to Americans anyway. You're NOT the most free nation, despite what that stupid man says.

On the whole, this is more scare-mongering by Fox. The mere mention of Martial Law is enough to make any intelligent person completely disregard everything they'd just discussed.

Martial Law is a danger, and has been for a while, just because you have a government determined to grow and to control every aspect of life in order to make them more secure in their positions.

You don't need reminding of that every ten seconds, and adding that on to the end of that discussion cheapens the relevance of everything they discussed.

The media needs to calm down with there hype and rhetoric. There are clogging up the hospital with people who have listened to them and panicked because they ate pork a month ago.... even though you can not get the swine flue from eating pork.

People try to stay calm. There is no reason to give up any civil rights or any liberties or even any simple privilages. It is just a different strain of the flu. Nothing more, nothing less.

If you have minimal symptons and no fever there is no reason to go to the hospital. 99% of the time, if you do not have a fever you do not have the flu....

Try turning off your tv for a while. Go outside and get some fresh air, you will be surprised to see that the world is still standing. There is not a mass riot taking place. The sky is not falling and the world is not done for.

Everything will be ok, just as it was in 1976 and apparently in 1918 as well. If we can survive the flu in 1918 with the healthcare system as primitive as it was then, humans can no doubt make it through, in 2009.

I agree with you completely, I do believe this is a "test" dry run, watch to see what happens and where it fails and with who it fails. Then take it back to the lab and do what needs to be done to take away the failures. Funny how they want ALL blood samples from around the world to go to one place. hhmm, now why is that? To make sure they take care of problems?

It has hit home now, a kid within a few miles of me or even in my neighborhood has it, from the local middle school. So how many other kids have it and don't know it yet?
