Jim Garrison began an investigation into the assassination of President Kennedy in the fall of 1966, after receiving several tips from Jack Martin that a man named David Ferrie may have been involved in the assassination. The end result of Garrison's investigation was the arrest and trial of New Orleans businessman Clay Shaw. Garrison's key witness against Clay Shaw was Perry Russo, a twenty-five year old insurance salesman from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. During the trial, Russo testified that he had attended an "assassination party" at David Ferrie's apartment, where Shaw, Ferrie, and Lee Harvey Oswald had discussed killing President Kennedy.

Russo’s version of events has been questioned by some historians and researchers, such as Patricia Lambert, once it became known that part of his testimony was induced by hypnotism, and by the drug Sodium Pentothal (sometimes called "truth serum"). Indeed, the early version of Russo's testimony, as told in the DA memo, before he was subjected to Sodium Pentothal and hypnosis, fails to mention an "assassination party" and says that Russo met Clay Shaw on two occasions, neither of which occurred at the "party." However in Jim Garrison's book On the Trail of the Assassins, he says Russo had already told of the party at David Ferrie's before any "truth serum" was admitted. The jury didn't see enough evidence to convict Shaw. A verdict of not guilty was given.

Garrison was able to subpoena the Zapruder film from Life magazine and show it to the public for the first time. Until the trial, the film had rarely been seen, and bootleg copies made by assassination investigators working with Garrison led to the film's wider distribution.
In 1978, the House Select Committee on Assassinations found that Lee Harvey Oswald's stint in the New Orleans Civil Air Patrol (C.A.P.) fit the timeline of David Ferrie's Civil Air Patrol service. Committee investigators also found six witnesses whose statements led them to believe that Oswald had been present at Civil Air Patrol meetings headed by David Ferrie.

In 1993, the PBS television program Frontline obtained a group photograph, taken eight years before the assassination, that showed Oswald and Ferrie at a cookout with other Civil Air Patrol cadets. However, as Frontline executive producer Michael Sullivan said, "one should be cautious in ascribing its meaning. The photograph does give much support to the eyewitnesses who say they saw Ferrie and Oswald together in the C.A.P., and it makes Ferrie's denials that he ever knew Oswald less credible. But it does not prove that the two men were with each other in 1963, nor that they were involved in a conspiracy to kill the president." However, Ferrie flat out denied ever knowing Oswald or Shaw, despite several witnesses who claimed to see the three of them in much of 1963.

HSCA Chief Counsel G. Robert Blakey wrote, in his book The Plot to Kill the President, that the Committee "...was inclined to believe that Oswald was in Clinton [Louisiana] in late August, early September 1963, and that he was in the company of David Ferrie, if not Clay Shaw" and that numerous witnesses in Clinton, Louisiana "...established an association of undetermined nature between Ferrie, Shaw and Oswald less than three months before the assassination."

In a 1992 interview, Edward Haggerty, who was the judge at the Clay Shaw trial, stated: "I believe he [Shaw] was lying to the jury. Of course, the jury probably believed him. But I think Shaw put a good con job on the jury.

Thanks for the information. I recently started reading about the JKF assassination and cant wait to watch these videos and read the links!

Ok, there have been very few presidents that I actually like or care for. But if I knew of a plan to assasinate the president (ok, fine, not the bush clan) I would take it upon myself to contact proper authorities. I feel anyone who is in that position, and does not say anything, and there is a subsequent assasination carried out should be tried for treason.

The fact that George HW Bush knew about a plot to assassinate the president and did nothing to thwart is is yet another example of why he along with all his cronies need to be assassinated themselves.

Could you imagine how much change we would actually see, for the better, if we could just place 10,000 perfectly fired bullets into the heads of TPTB and put the power back in the hands of the people, rather than tyrants.

Edit: Only in America could you have multiple first hand witnesses speaking of multiple shots fired, then have a commision conclude that there was only was one shot fired, by one gun man.

A similar thing happened just 8 years ago, when multiple first hand witnesses claimed they heard multiple secondary explosions, only for a commission to later claim that not to be the case.

To king9072: I think its funny that even with so many eye witness accounts that state the exact opposite of the official report, the masses can go on thinking that everything is ok, and that their government always tells them the truth.

A man of honor in a system that not only lacks honor, but dignity as well. What really troubles me is that if 51% of the population (as per the poll results) believes that the CIA was involved, why don't this 51% of the population come together and demand that the CIA be disbanded?

We have come a long way in opening people's minds, now they must open their hearts, abandon their cowardice and take action. This does not mean violence, it means action. If the representatives will not represent, they need to become ex-representatives. Unfortunately, as much as their minds open, their eyes shut.

I'm watching part nine now, very compelling film.

I've never seen it, and I can't help but wonder if it will ever matter.

You can't investigate "them" without "their" approval and involvement, so it is a case for the court of public opinion.

As a member of that court I vote guilty as charged!

Without Garrison's and his associates efforts and investigation the truth would have never had a chance to be seen.

Excellent film - the best I've seen on the topic. Goes to show that the 9/11 false flag op was the SECOND American mass psychosis based on the lies and denial of secrecy-BASED government. Always a joy... I swear this paradigm is, far too often, more like a computer simulation than real life. It's beyond mind-boggling.

And holy kee-rap, I didn't know Arlen Spector was the author of the "magic bullet" theory! Man, this # goes DEEP. Now let's work to place certain vampires in deep #.

We have the truth, and in the end that may be all.

Toward the end it was said that Garrison didn't like to think of himself as a hero.

I beg to differ with that, his tireless efforts and personal sacrifices, along with the incredible inherent danger he brought into his life, all in the pursuit of one thing many of us are endlessly searching for. THE TRUTH.

A true American hero.

I usually hate online videos, often because the quality really sucks, not so in this case for me, compared to other online videos I have seen the quality of this one was very good, Opened up in full screen mode it was again very good.

Aside from Bush senior's not sufficiently alerting the right people of the threat, perhaps he was actually involved in the disinformation side with his saying the assassination would occur "in Houston." Just a thought.

What do you have to do to get the video to play? The player comes up but the the movie doesn't play. The player screen remains black and no sound.

Great question. True news and history has been watered-down & censored by fiat-authorities and misleading governments for ages, but thanks to people like James Garrison, we can find much more about what really happened to witnesses of the JFK assassination. This is an interesting series of videos. Garrison saved a lot of information about his investigations so the public would see his important search-results.

Grr, Arrgh, this whole thing is confusing. This doc says it was the CIA and I just recently spent ten hours watching another doc that said it was LBJ. I'm trying to see if both docs jive with each other, maybe that could be but I dunno.

Anyway, I had never gone real deep down the JFK rabbit hole and just like always, I seem to stay confused the more I learn.

finding the CIA Cuban camps.

And then how does Oswald appear on film in New Orleans passing
out fliers in a media event.

And was there a plan so far in advance to get Oswald in the Dallas
Book Depository. The trip to Dallas planers got to be numero uno
suspects. Some planers must have been wishing for a lot of
coincidence or if they wanted assassination bad enough would put
coincidence aside and made it happen in a well coordinated plan.

What a shame, I'd love to see this, but for some reason ALL videos on/in the ATS Videos and Media section just will not play for me at all.
