Here's the link..

www.wired.com...

There seems to be a lot of confusion in the MSM and alternative media about what strains are involved in the imminent pandemic.

We first heard that this deadly flu is a combination of human type A and B, plus avian, plus swine. Alternative media (Alex Jones, Jeff Rense, and Steve Quayle just to name a few) started calling this a lab engineered cocktail flu.

Now comes this article from WIRED claiming no such cocktail.

I'm not sure what to believe, but I think we could be looking at several different flu pathogens deployed at different locations. Since these may be slightly different types of flu out there instead of just the one, perhaps that was done to confuse scientists.

The "mild" outbreak in the USA versus the "deadly" outbreak in Mexico may be due to at least two different virulent pathogens out there.

Any comments?

Even if this Flu is a "cocktail," of various strains, that does not mean it is man-made. Flu virus' morph once they come in contact with a different strain. That is one of the reasons that one of the biggest fears is that this swine flu finds it's way into a country where Avian is prevalent. The result could be disasterous.

That would explain this article to me then. I know the news keep saying the pigs dont have H1N1 virus but this article from sept 2008 shows other wise.
The SIV Challenge

From Pfizer Animal Health. The evolving nature of the swine influenza virus (SIV) makes it hard to control, especially in show pigs.

When it comes to protecting your show pigs from the threat of disease, no vaccine can protect against everything. That is especially true with swine influenza virus (SIV), according to Max Rodibaugh, DVM, Swine Health Services, LLC, Frankfort, Indiana, USA.

"This virus is constantly changing and adapting to new conditions, which makes it more difficult to control," he explains. "But because it plays a role in causing respiratory problems and is a significant contributor to the porcine respiratory disease complex (PRDC), it poses a serious threat for swine herds." Show animals can face an even bigger threat from SIV due to the increased exposures they face at various shows throughout the season.

Over the years, SIV has evolved from one basic subtype - H1N1 - that used to occur mainly in fall [autumn] and early winter. In 1998, a new subtype - H3N2 - appeared. Researchers said it developed from human, swine and avian influenza viruses that had somehow combined. This subtype caused a swine flu epidemic because pigs were only immune to the H1N1 subtype. Some years after that, another subtype of SIV emerged - H1N2 - and it affected some pigs but was not as widespread.

Vaccines for SIV have been updated to protect against new subtypes of the virus but because new changes are always possible with this type of virus, no vaccine can guarantee to help protect animals against all strains of SIV. But research has found that protecting against two common subtypes is an effective animal health management tool. For example, FluSure® is an injectable vaccine that aids in preventing respiratory disease caused by SIV subtypes H1N1 and H3N2, which are the most often diagnosed subtypes in US herds.

Does anyone know how the timing of this outbreak coincides with bird migration patterns? If the cocktail or whatever it is does get into the world bird population, what would the ramifications of that be?

Are birds currently migrating up from South America through Mexico and up into the USA? That's my guess but I haven't researched it.

I suppose the virus would have to get into the avian flu via the Far East and then somehow make it by the bird flight paths to the Americas?

I don't know, just asking.

I figured as much. The sources in this article appear to be very good. It would appear that the combination of flu's is an Internet driven Urban Myth. I wondered how they could have all that info in a couple of days. Lab testing just does not happen that fast.

I've heard the false story reported as fact on CNN, Fox and now I'm reading it started with people like Alex Jones. I hope he is credible enough to admit it was made up hype. If he is honest he will and he will do it today. Any bets

I'm really starting to wonder when an interest in Conspiracy Theories required you to be as out of control as these topics have been on the Internet and in particular ATS lately. All this constant fear mongering and made up hype has set any serious evaluations of these theories back by years. I almost never see well thought out threads with good sources any more.

Thanks Switching Yard for finding and posting the first decent information I've seen. You may not get much attention though because the truth is usually boring compared to the myths. Thank you

Thanks. But like I said earlier, I don't really know what to believe.

Something is not adding up. The scientists on WIRED say it jumped from swine to human, but I can't find any reports of any sick swine in Mexico or elsewhere. The Egyptian authorities went so far as killing all their swine herds, so they must think there are sick swine somewhere in the world or do they think this will mutate into Avian and then somehow from birds down into their Egyptian swine?

I just don't get it.

Seems to me this was deployed as bio terror in two, maybe more different pathogens in different locations to confuse people and perhaps buy time for the real hammer to come down.

Is martial law 2 - 7 days away in USA? That is the current hot topic but I would like to know from the govt if this is man made or not, but of course they are keeping everything top secret as usual.

Of course, it is so much more simple if you just forget everything and accept this proclamation.

That's for the best, isn't it?

"Let us not tolerate outrageous conspiracy theories." - sound advice, no?

If this is true then it's scary if you think about the train that exploded in Geneve that contained "only" swine-flu vials.

It would apprear that maybe Wired wants us falling into a New World Order trap.

So lets see...hundreds and thousands if not millions of articles have been
written and posted all over the world in papers and the internet, describing this new flu and its strange new mutated gene sequence. Now you think that the WHO and CDC waited untill today to announce that ...oh...wait it was a mistake? They did not announce any such retraction.

Wired expects us to read an article out of Wired Science and believe it? Too bad! Wired Science is an Illuminati Tool!

Many conspiracy theorists will tell you that the American 2nd Amendment (the right to keep and bear arms) is the last bastion of the US citizenry’s right to protect their private property. In order to bring about and enforce a world socialist State, a totalitarian government has to find a way to disarm its citizens. An armed public is rather dangerous to handle, even with modern war-tech to back you up.

And I haven’t seen an army yet willing to take on 100 million armed people, who at least own one shotgun.

So what do you do?

One way, and it’s a tried and true method used by intelligence agencies worldwide, is to use Manchurian Candidates, or sleeper agents.

I didn't say I believed the WIRED article. On the contrary, I have repeatedly said I don't know whether to believe it or not.

Here's the deal... we all heard that this was a single virus that is a cocktail of Avian, Pig and the two human types A & B.

Now, we are hearing that no, it is two pig viruses jumped to human.

That is weird... the WIRED article... as if there is some spin now coming out to downplay or refute the cocktail.

So look, no, I have not bought the WIRED article hook, line and sinker.

I believe that we could be looking at two or more different pathogenic viruses... one that is a deadly cocktail and one that is the swine based as WIRED proclaims.

I think it is all suspect. There could very well be dis-info going out one way or the other. But I see no evidence out there of any sick swine herd. That is very suspicious and points to lab engineered. If it is lab engineered, they (the perpetrators) could have planted more than one virus in more than one place simultaneously and put out disinfo that it is only one virus.

It is also very strange that this is being hyped like mad and threat levels are going up by the day while a relatively few deaths are being reported. Whether that means there are many thousands of walking infected who don't know they're infected or the whole thing is being blown out of proportion is also a mystery.

Thanks for pointing out my misstep. I was steered here by another post on the thread, and was distracted by it. My apoligies.

You are onto a really interesting twist here!

I think you are correct in concluding that the Wired article is disinfo.

It maybe easier to believe that the media is making up disinfo that to believe that everyone else "got it wrong" in the first place.

It seems something weird is going on...no doubt!

Maybe this is where it started?

Forgive me, but in the midst of all the bs and hype about this, a little humour is called for I think.
