Here's an article chronicling Obama's first 100 days in office. Unfortunately for all of us, there are also (at least) enough mistakes to average out at one per day.

article

1. "Obama criticized pork barrel spending in the form of 'earmarks,' urging changes in the way that Congress adopts the spending proposals. Then he signed a spending bill that contains nearly 9,000 of them, some that members of his own staff shoved in last year when they were still members of Congress. 'Let there be no doubt, this piece of legislation must mark an end to the old way of doing business, and the beginning of a new era of responsibility and accountability,' Obama said."

And that is is just mistake #1. Obviously you all now have some serious reading to do to get through all 100.

I like #5.....

5. "The White House says the president is unaware of the tea parties." -- ABC News, 4/15

Talk about being out of touch with mainstream America! Bush would have been done if he had said something like that in response to Anti-War protests.

Some of these 100 mistakes are quite silly choices in being added to a seemingly serious article. Like adding the item about not selecting a pound mutt. But some of the mistakes are quite genuine in being called mistakes. IMO, of course.

Well that was a bit of a read. I didn't even know about this one:

48. "While the online question portion of the White House town hall was open to any member of the public with an Internet connection, the five fully identified questioners called on randomly by the president in the East Room were anything but a diverse lot. They included: a member of the pro-Obama Service Employees International Union, a member of the Democratic National Committee who campaigned for Obama among Hispanics during the primary; a former Democratic candidate for Virginia state delegate who endorsed Obama last fall in an op-ed in the Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star; and a Virginia businessman who was a donor to Obama's campaign in 2008." -- Washington Post, 3/27

Sure handpicked who got to ask questions didn't they?

67. Obama quietly announced that he would not press for new labor and environmental regulations in the North American Free Trade Agreement, going back on a campaign promise.

That sure didn't get much attention either. Must have been busy talking about his dog.

100. "Don't think we're not keeping score, brother." -- Obama to Rep. Peter DeFazio, after the Democratic congressman voted against the stimulus bill.

Yep, sounds like change we can believe in to me.

There are some on the list though that really don't have anything to do with Obama, so it's not really a list of 100 of his mistakes. Like this one for example:

53. Three candidates for ambassador to the Vatican -- including Caroline Kennedy -- were turned down by the Holy See because they supported abortion, according to reports.

That has nothing to do with Obama, it has to do with the Vatican, the Pope, and religious beliefs.

Overall though, it's a pretty good collection of things that have gone wrong or been handled wrong.

Nice find Centurion.

# 53 WAS a mistake made by Obama & co. Why would anyone with common sense offer a pro abortionist as ambassador to the Vatican?
The Vatican which has always held abortion to be morally reprehensible. Did he think that maybe he could change the church's view about abortion that is several hundred years old? Or was it done to insult the christian faith?

Actually I would contend he is doing very well with his ‘modern progressive’ moniker for his ‘puppet master’ statist handlers. He has conveniently sold the nationalization of whole sections of US economy as a ‘bail out’ while transferring bad debt to the American taxpayer in exchange for the wealth of the average American by way of derivative looting of the stock exchange; all of this while convincing the sheeple with his ‘New Speak’ that he is looking out for the little guy, as he degrades our sovereignty and apologizes for our horrible American excesses.

Not to mention beginning to turn our military into the ‘meals on wheels’ boy scout relief force and America Crops into national socialist brown shirts! He has got to be the best progressive leader since Roosevelt. (Just giving credit where it is due)

Both maybe?

I was looking at it from the standpoint that it's not really his fault that the Vatican, the Pope, or Catholics have the beliefs they do. But you're right, they weren't exactly the brightest ideas for nominations.

I particularly enjoyed Barack Hussein's biggest publicity blunder of all...

TERROR FLYOVER

of New York City!

Nothing says "Trust Me" like recreating our most horrifying national tragedy, as thousands of helpless and panicking citizens go screaming through the streets.

30. Timothy Geithner nomination as Secretary of Treasury was almost torpedoed when it was discovered he had failed to pay $34,000 in Social Security and Medicare taxes. He also employed an illegal immigrant as a housekeeper. He was confirmed anyway.

Bunch of hypocrites.

If Obama is directly responsible for that blunder, does that mean that Bush is directly responsible for torturing POW's?

And yes we know that his middle name is Hussein. Shesh oh Pete! We know exactly why someone would use Obama's middle name, that is to associate him with a dead dictator.
I guess Bush the elder's buddy, King Hussein of Jordan has to be in the same boat eh?

While I agree that Obama isn't the save all end all to every problem on the planet, one has to take into account that this is an elected official that pretty much will lie his way to get what he wants.

Fact of the matter is, Obama is a politician, politicians lie. I am sure the political right will nit pick every opportunity they can just as the left did with W.

Right on Daddyroo! #53 is a direct example of how out of touch he is with the world around him (and how he could care less) and the citizens he is still supposed to serve whether they voted him in or not. Hmmmm, wonder if he would make the same detached mistake regarding ...oh let's say....our Muslim friends? I think not!

To quote a phrase used quite readily by liberals - "It happened on his watch, so yes, he is to blame." So if you're going judge a president (Bush) using one set of rules it stands to reason that you must use the same rules to judge another president (Obama).

Not to mention the fact that Obama issued a statement taking full responsibility for the flyover.

the fly over should have been number 1 imo- i have said time and time agian those people were idiots but not even obamatrons will ackowledge it.

37. "The Obama administration has directed defense officials to sign a pledge stating they will not share 2010 budget data with individuals outside the federal government." -- Defense News, 2/19

so much for that so called transparency he touts so much

that tells me whats left of the military is no more-troops in harms way and whats the democrats answer? cut defense cut intel.......

that is treason in my book .

100 mistakes 100 blunders in the first 100 days by then end of his term or terms you will see castro and chavez sleeping in the lincoln bedroom sipping tea in the oval office.

it scares me to imagine what is yet to come.

soon the obama admin will be screaming for the good ole days of his first 100 because whats yet to come will outrage us all.

As to the Vatican, Obama picked those people knowing full well the Churches stance on Abortion. Surely nobody is fool enough to think it was not an intended insult. Obama thinks he is so powerful he can change churches beliefs it would seem. What utter arrogance. Or, it was just another dumb mistake by a man who claims to be qualified to hold the most powerful position on Earth? There are no other options and both speak badly of Obama.

On Topic -

What I find most odd not mentioned in this article is the fact in Polling his approval rating is high but the majority does not support his programs. In other words they like the guy but think his ideas are wrong and won't work.

This is not a man destined for greatness. It is a man who slipped in under the radar when the country was distracted and angry at Bush. The voters had dreams of a Great Man who would bring change and we got a liar who's word is no good, a seemingly inept fool and a fancy new dog in the White House.

My list of problems would be:

1- He thinks he can borrow us out of debt which most 18 year old's know won't work, but not him.

2- The large group of Lobbyists he appointed after promising many times when running he would never do. The most in our face of his lies.

3- He cowers before Queen Pelosi and her wishes.

4- He is incapable of even speaking to us without reading words written by others in focus groups.

5- He spent more in the first 40 days than all Presidents in history combined.

6- He lied about Transparency.

7- Instead of enhancing our image in the world, he has them wondering how a fool like him got to such a high position.

8- He is so far left he has to use a phone to talk to his right hand.

9- He has picked the most incompetent people ever for his Cabinet.

These things don't say great leader to me. They say unqualified mid-level manager somehow got promoted to his level of incompetence.

Obama is a prime example of the Peter Principle:

The Peter Principle is the principle that "In a Hierarchy Every Employee Tends to Rise to His Level of Incompetence."

en.wikipedia.org...

Except that Obama is way past his level of incompetence. He wasn't much of a Senator, either.

He reminds me more of the "Septic Tank Principle":

Where exceptions to this exist, the scenario switches to the "Septic Tank Principle" which is broadly similar but is usually described as "excrement rising to the top".

He has truly earned his nickname of "Boy Blunder".
