Hi Everyone,

I'm a bit of a newbie on this subject, so bear with me

I was wondering if I saw an Unidentified flying object in the sky's , or just a satellite.

When I was going home on my bike late at night yesterday. I looked up because it was a nice clear night, with no clouds. And I was slowly riding trough a lane without lamp posts, so you could see the stars really well.

Suddenly this blink pops up, so I stopped and stared. It was larger than a star, but at about the same brightness.
It was going about twice the speed of the occasional airliner that comes along.
But I can't say at wich altitude it was, it was just a bright dot.

I don't think it was a comet, because it didn't have the tale behind it.

The dot went in a straight line, and lasted for about 5-7 seconds, then it got less bright, and eventually disappeared.
Like the light just went out.

Any thoughts?

S

It has all the hallmarks of a sattelite, they move at a steady pace and continue to get brighter as they move to the peak reflection point and then slowly get dimmer before dissapearing. It sounds like thats what you saw.
