Death Of Bruce Lee?

www.martial-arts-info.com

Do you guys know that Bruce Lee was beaten by a Silat Guru from Malaysia? In 1973, Dato Meor Abdul Rahman used deadly hand technique known as “Kipas Senandung” to send Bruce Lee flying. The blow was devastated. Bruce died days after he lost"

And a translation (by some mates) of the Malay Wiki page about the Mentioned Dato Meor Abdul Rahman bin Uda Mohd Hashim at the bottom of my comments section. As the malay-wiki states they met each other in 1973? If wiki is to be trusted..?

Hey Guys,

Forgive me if this is not in the right category/topic as it is my first time posting on ATS. I have commented before on other topics but its been a while..

OK now about this " Bruce Lee vs the WHo?!". I realize the link is a lil "dodgy", but my point is the story itself. Please realize i do have a lot of respect for the late Bruce Lee as I am trying to practice an art myself and he in my opinion was/is a legend in his own right. As with most if not all topics told to me (as i have learned from ATS) is to be opened minded about the subject but at the same time holding a "shield of skepticism".

So here we go...

I first heard it back in 96-97 when i went to Singapore to live. My uncle's,friends ,relatives etc ..would boast about how Datok Meor Abdul Rahman inflicted deadly internal blows to the Great Bruce Lee which (as the story briefly suggests) eventually leads to his death. At first hearing this it was like thinking, " wtf man you guys wack'd ??". I didn't really think about again till like 30min ago lol.

All I am hoping is that by posting on ATS maybe all the wisdom and sensibility I have witness on here will be able to shine some light on this subject as i would appreciate any comments.

I cannot read Malay (Behasa) very well at all (even at English I'm terrible) but am very fortunate to have contacted like minded-people that are efficient speakers in Behasa which are very interested on the development of this topic.

As they are close and old friends I can only give them my trust and appreciation of them helping me out of this, so i will try to get translated more material from the SE-Asia when it is possible to do so.

I really would like to express that i am totally open to concepts of "black magic(or just magic in general)" being applied with the techniques used in the such battles.

And again i just would like to express that i am not "anti-Bruce dude" in anyway i am just interested in the facts that some of you guys may already know or are ready to share with us.

Cheers guys thank you for your understanding.

From ms.wikipedia.org...

Translated By Nor. And Azrien.( Terimah Kasih Guys
)

"At the end of 1969, Meor Abdul Rahman moved to Air Kuning, Taiping, Perak. In 1971, he was awarded the Darjah Kebesaran Dato’ Paduka Cora Si Manja, by KDYMM Sultan Idris Syah, for his unwavering sacrifice and contribution for religion, culture and sultanate. The award carries the title Seri Paduka(equivalent to the knighthood in the British Empire). In the year 1973, Dato’ Meor Abdul Rahman and his acquaintance, Tuan Syed Jamalulail, departed for London to visit a relative there. On the way back to Malaysia in Hong Kong, he met Bruce Lee, a famous martial-artist. During the short meeting, Dato’ Meor Abdul Rahman had exchanged with Bruce Lee the Sino-Malay culture and ethics."

Bruce's death is not some fancy tale.

Simply this...Following a workout session one evening Bruce went to see a producer friend of his about a script idea, the friend was not at home. Being an old friend of the family he decided to hang a bit at the house with the friends wife in company when he got a very bad headache and needed to lay down. The wife having had a prescription for an Opiate based pain reliever, brought one to Bruce thinking it would help....well, it wound up killing him instead!

The headache that Bruce had experienced was the result of a blood vessel rupturing in his brain, the opiate caused a change in blood pressure that caused a massive embelism resulting in his death while he slept.

At least is was peaceful....

I remember very well when he died, an uncle was a martial arts student/instructor and we practically lived and breathed Bruce Lee. In the 1960s he was targeted by a council of Chinese-born masters for teaching wing chun to non-Asians which was considered punishable by death, believe it or not. People have always theorized that his death was a hit by them or a producer in the Hong Kong film industry over finances. When he died the official cause was an allergy to aspirin but over the years it is speculated that he accidentally overdosed on the pain killer she gave him or that she did it intentionally.

Either way, he was not only a great fighter but a very, very important figure in the Civil Rights movement at that time because he worked with multiracial students and movie crews which was very controversial and also married a white woman. He also kicked off the fight to end derogatory Asian stereotypes in movies, he also was the first Asian man in American movies who was depicted as sexually attractive since Sessue Hayakawa many decades earlier. Blacks and Asians on this board know very well what that means!

In case anyone was interested, you can visit Bruce and Brandon's graves in Seattle. It is a pretty cool thing to pay respect in person.

My Sifu was trained by Bruce Lee. He owns Bruces original Game of Death yellow jump suit. I've heard many stories from being shot on stage to a heart attack and all that other rubbish. This one is about as close as it gets.

kool but i will try to get more translations to "back up my theory".

An interesting thing is why hasn't the "general explanation" of bruce lee's death mention anything of the "official visit" by Dato’ Meor Abdul Rahman as it suggests in in the history in the Malay-Wiki?

Like putting the cause of death aside what would the harm be of mentioning this visit? I mean as the translation states that " During the short meeting, Dato’ Meor Abdul Rahman had exchanged with Bruce Lee the Sino-Malay culture and ethics."

Now just specifically a reply to DEM0N , first of all much respect to you and your Sifu. To be trained directly under a man of such caliber and be taught by his student is awesome bro/or miss, thats all i got to say..

Anyway if possible I mean this in the most respectable way of course, are you able to ask your Sifu if he knew of any meeting between the 2? I'm not going to jump to conclusions if he happens to say " yes i remember Sifu Lee meeting with Dato' Meor.." hehe I would like to just find a common ground and obviously filter out the non-truths and give both Legends that "extra respect" that I am sure they deserve.

Cheers Demon looking forward to your comment.

Like pretty much everyone knows of Bruce Lee but now here is a pretty quick/good summary of the story and history of Mahaguru Dato' Meor Abdul Rahman bin Uda Mohd Hashim..

Silat Seni Gayong was formulated and founded by Mahaguru Dato' Meor Abdul Rahman bin Uda Mohd Hashim. He was of bugis decent born in 1915 and was the great-grandson of Daeng Kuning, commonly known as Panglima Hitam. Meor Abdul Rahman began learning the knowledge of silat at the age of twelve from his grandfather Tuan Syed Zainal Syed Idris Al-Attas. Syed Zainal is one of the warriors who fought against the British colonialism of the 19th century, in Pahang. Syed Zainal inherited his silat knowledge from Daeng Ambok Solok, a bugis warrior residing in Jambi Sumatra at that time.

The rest of this story

After reading the link wouldn't you guys agree that this dude has some "hard-out credentials" man..? I'm gonna dig for more ..

Foul play was immediately suspected as having a role in Lee's passing. Chow appeared on television to try to settle the public furor that quickly developed. He explained what happened, omitting only the fact that Lee had not died at home. The press soon uncovered the truth, however, and demanded to know what Chow was trying to cover up. R.D. Teare, a professor of forensic medicine at the University of London who had overseen more than 90,000 autopsies, was called in and declared that it was basically impossible for the cannabis to be a factor in Lee's death. In Teare's opinion, the edema was caused by hypersensitivity to either meprobamate or aspirin, or a combination of both. His view was accepted by authorities, and a determination of "misadventure" was stamped on Lee's death.

Lol This is some more interesting things but i thought the "cheekyness" of initially blaming "The Herb" was in some way hilarious and disturbing at the same time.

This is so interesting! I've always been a huge Bruce Lee Fan and the cause surrounding his death is still as hazy to this day it seems. Let's try and get more facts because this is very interesting. I mean let's look at Brandon Lee, how many people actually die from real bullets being put in a gun on set. That's crazy!

So interesting........

Actualy it not only real bullits that do damage and kill. Paul Newman shot himself through the thigh during the shooting of Butch and Sundance. The cardboard wad from the blank shell imbedded itself when he pulled trigger too soon during a draw. David Allen Hexum thought he was smart and tried to fool his cast mates with a faked suicide. he put the muzzle of the S&W revolverup to his temple and pulled the trigger. The gas from the 'blank' movie shell punched a neat 44 caliber piece of his skull out and through his brain. Courtney Cox was standing right next to him when he did it. Real bullits on the sets of movies are not allowed but it does happen. If theres a way to screw up safety regulations, humans always finds some way to do it!

What title form did your friend train under? There are of course different ones that were explored and taught by Bruce. Where and when was your friend taught? Does your teacher know Guru Dan?

Where did the original jumpsuit get obtained?
Just wondering if he got it from the Auction at the studio or got it outta the display case it's held in?

OP that is the dumbest story yet.

Bruce was like other guys in Hollywood at the time. He was using hash brownies to relax and have sex. Some of the guys brought some back from Nepal that was supposed to be extra strong. Bruce was one of those athletes that had a bad reaction to the stuff. A track star died from the same thing.

The hash is what caused his brain to swell and the reason cannabis was found in his system. He'd been banging actress Ting Pei since '72 and was with her when he had his last reaction and died in her bed.

They covered it up for the fans and for the sake of Bruce's family. Had it been shown that he took anything illegal then the million dollar insurance policy on his life would have been void.

He was a cool guy, but he chose to believe a drug guru showbiz doctor in Los Angeles (and some of his actor buddies) over the specialists in Hong Kong who told him that he was risking his life by playing around with the stuff.

After he passed out and nearly died in May '73 the doctors said that they figured he wouldn't listen to them and the next time they saw him he might be dead before they could help him. That prediction turned out to be correct.

RIP Bruce.

I never really thought Bruce's death was suspicious. But his son Brandon is another story. Shot on a movie set while in the middle of a scene, when real bullets were used instead of blanks? Come on, that is fishy. And how does that even happen. Why would any movie sets have live ammo around?

I was a friend of Brandon's. This is direct from close family and friends. It's the truth.

Linda's ex-husband even put it in a book that few people have read.

Doesn't matter though. If it makes it more exciting for someone to think a "deadly blow" killed Bruce or something, then what the hell? Fandom is like that. B.S. is always more accepted than reality.

The doctors in Hong Kong have even spoken about it in interviews. They were shocked to have fans calling them liars. People seem to prefer the phony stories. What can anyone do?

Oh well, let them have their fantasy.
