We recently helped your citizens in IVORY-COAST coming SAFE home !
G-W BUSH (

Don't tell us that FRANCE ISN'T an ALLY !!!

You mean let the inspectors find dirt on France, Germany, Russia, North Korea and China inside Iraq's books???

France is aiding Iraq with intel to avoid disclosure by the Inspectors because France would be exposed as scum...thus France's whining about the US going in and tearing down the entire mess.

When the US goes in, France will be exposed...thus France will do anything to stop the US military from rolling into Baghdad. The US Govt this time might not stop intel about France hitting the newswires.

Donald Rumsfeld's latest comments comparing Berlin's attitude to a war on Iraq with that of Cuba and Libya have touched a raw nerve in Germany's press.

'Outrageous, but true'

Only one major paper - Berlin's Die Welt - shows some understanding for the Rumsfeld comments. "Outrageous, but true", it says.

It warns of even worse to come if Germany votes against a possible second UN resolution on Iraq.

"Berlin's plunge into the company of pariahs, thieves and the usual suspects for anti-American activities would be complete."

Hooray for Die Welt peoples. They understand what's going on.

WASHINGTON, Feb. 7 The leaders of France and China rebuffed efforts by President Bush today to line up support for the use of force against Iraq within the next month or two. Their continuing resistance made clear the difficulty the White House faces in its attempt to win explicit new authorization from the United Nations Security Council for military action.

France, Germany, North Korea, China and Russia don't support attacking Iraq because they have OIL deals with Iraq and they've also helped build Iraq's illegal weapons stockpile.

The anti-war protests state it's all about OIL....well, it's all about OIL for Germany, France, North Korea, China and Russia.

France and Germany, 2 democracy, allied with 3 dictatorship ( North-Korea, Russia & China ), just to protect another dictatorship ( Irak ).

" Vive la France " and " Heil Shrder "

74% of the world....What a joke ! What are you doing with the 7 EU nations who signed a support letter to Washington Policy against Irak ? It's France and Germany who are isolated in the EU !

Oh yeah,I forget that for you, Germany and France ARE the EU, and that the other EU nations opinion doesn't count for one penny !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys, we had the axis of evil, now, we have the Berlin-Paris axis, where the frenche are KISSING the german a$$.

A taste of nostalgia probably....After all, may be that the Germans will try to kick some french a$$ ( one more time ), and that the french will lose ( one more time ) against the Germans. So, they have to act carefully with the Germans, cuz this time, I don't think that the USA/GB will do something to help them !!!

Well, I'm not living in the Netherlands ( another nice country with smart peoples ). I'm living in a country where the peoples ( like in France ) don't understand that they are by their policy makers.

They Can Dish It Out, But Don't Take It Too Well

Of course, believing that Europe IS France and France IS Europe, as our vexed Frenchmen do, isn't arrogant at all. Because after all, what would Europe be without France?

We could also ask the question, what would France be without the United States? That one has an easy answer, though. They'd be German.

Just Hating America Isn't Enough

German Chancellor Gerhardt Schroeder was elected on a platform of 'Anything But America' in the last German elections. His anti-American rhetoric was so profound the US government called it 'poisonous.' But now that he is in office, German voters are expecting him to do something. The Social Democrats hadn't thought that far forward. Consequently, Schroeder's government has tumbled further and faster in the opinion polls than any other post-World War II government. Just hating America isn't enough.

I believe there are a couple of very good reasons why France is not an ally against Iraq, or anyone. First of all, France lacks the military ability, drive, coordination, equipment, and intestinal fortitude to meet any competent opponent on any kind of level field.

If we investigate history, we find very obvious evidence that were it not for America and England, all French citizens would now be speaking German, along with most of Europe.

While we talk about WWII, how about French solidarity and committment? Lets see.... as soon as Germany entered French territory, they were met by a large contingent of the French military and government who readily bent over and submitted to thier whims, later known as the Vichy French. Later, when America and England invaded Normandy (and lost THOUSANDS of lives to LIBERATE France) these same French readily jumped up and down spouting French nationalism.

Does the term waffling mean anything in French??

Moving on in history to VietNam (a war that my father got to participate in), France became the last nation to attempt to hold onto a colony, and lost badly, finally ending up at Dien Bien Phu, where French forces were badly massacred. At that point France unabashedly turned tail and ran, leaving America to take care of the situation.

Therefore, faced with a long long history of French military disasters, its no surprise that the French dont want to be a party to any war. Although, considering that the French would likely only ride the coat tails of allies in any conflict, this is likely not the foremost reason for voting against war with Iraq.

The most likely reason for France opposing conflict with Iraq (and North Korea for that matter) is purely financial: France has TOO MANY BUSINESS TIES WITH THE ENEMY!!!!!!

Oh yes, while on the subject, wanted to say a few words about the much vaunted French Foreign Legion.

The Foreign Legion is a military group of the French military, composed specifically of non-French citizens, many of them being criminals. (One of the major selling points for recruitment is that the Legion will supply a new identity, and won't ask questions about your origin.)

Why does it exist? Publicly, the Legion is advertised as being a type of Special Forces group (and admittedly, the Legion is probably the best trained branch of the French army). The main reason for its existence, however, is plausible deniability. With the Legion, since all members are non-French, they have a military group that can be used AGAINST French citizens and French territories, and allies (remember New Zealand???)

You've made a valid point dragonrider, about the French Foreign Legion. I've seen some programs about their training and they are a formitable fighting force.

They carry a card with a phone number and if they get into any trouble, anywhere in the world, they can call the number and the Legion comes to their rescue.

I was most impressed that upon retirement, they have a villa available on Malta (I think) where they can live out the rest of their days.

I suppose the regular French Army likes them also because when trouble comes along, the Legion goes in first....LOL

Cheers,
Deep

1) Not at all. Most of them are not french, but they have many french too. And forget this story about criminals. It was true there is some decades, but now, if you're not clean, you can't join the " Legion Etrangre ".

2) Well, sorry again. But the Legion is an army inside the army. They have special forces too, but they have airbornes, engineers, transmission, infantry, armored....

3) Yes, they are the best in the french armed forces.

4) French Legion is not used against french civilians. Where did you get this ????
