He speaks the truth. In other words he says the things that everybody needs to here but for some reason refuse to believe. They want change but only if the change sounds good.

Yes, recruiters have been on high school campuses for years.

Yes, you are correct. The measure's passage prohibited a recruiter from initiating contact with anyone under 18. It did not prohibit recruiters, just not allowing them to, for example, recruit on a school campus, or initiate recruiting at, say, shopping malls.

Schools are threatened with funds withheld, under NCLB, if a school board prohibits recruiters, so this measure (and the one for Eureka) was a challenge to the gov't.

Because of NCLB, recruiters had access to student names, addresses and phone #s, and students would get phone calls at home by recruiters.

NCLB 2001...easier to get recruits for a future war without a draft. How many Iraq soldiers were recruited under the Delayed Entry Program?
Yes, getting 16 year olds to commit to the military has been going on for years.

I find it amazing that this far left, socialist administration and its supporters don't think children should be "indoctrinated" into any religion, but have no problem with trying to get them, at age 16, to commit to the military, before they really understand all the implications.

They want government to replace God in the minds of the youth. They are currently using everything at their disposal to see this plan through: the public education system, the GIVE act, "convention of the rights of the child" legislation, and several other programs, including this military recruiting effort. Don't let your kids become one of Big Brother's brainwashed zombies.

I'm glad to see that Obama has a rational perspective on this issue. What the left has done to demonize the military and to try to restrict recruitment in high schools and colleges is scandalous.

I participated in JROTC in high school, enlisted in the Marine Corps at seventeen prior to graduation, arrived at MCRD, San Diego before my eighteenth birthday and landed in Vietnam before my nineteenth.

Teenagers are sufficiently mature to make plans for their careers in high school and the military is an honorable career path and an excellent opportunity for training and adventure, even if one chooses not to pursue a career.

He advocates listen to the government and know one else. Only we your elected officials know what is truly in your best wishes. Now go on and put this suit and blank stare on. Wipe your drool.

He's helping sell out his fellow Americans. He has no remorse. It's so frustrating.
