The TIME Top 100 - Was this planned?

Obviously, most of the votes for moot was fake. According to what I've heard, people from 4chan used vote bots/automatic voters/etc. to make moot win. That's not what is surprising.

I was looking at the Top 100 when I noticed something very...odd, to say the least. Looking at the first 21 people on the list, I noticed the first letter of each name spelled out this:

mARBLECAKEALSOTHEGAME (marble cake also the game)

Was this planned by the people who did the vote spamming, or is it nothing but a coincidence?

My god what are the chances of that happening statistically speaking?

What does it mean if anything at all?

What does Marble cake mean and why is it also the game?

I wonder if there is a code inside a code?

So "marblecake" is the name of the group of Anonymous users similar to a secret society on a smaller scale? I knew about a hidden group that communicated on a secret IRC chatroom who would run scripts on 4chan's /b/ board to promote events they wanted to execute or information they wanted to get across and group flood a thread to make it seem like there were hundreds of users participating when there were only a small hand full, but I had no idea they had picked a name. To people with access of voting bots, if marblecake was watching the poll around the clock and had a focused effort planned, then it would not have been too hard. You have to wonder if TIME has noticed it.

On 4chan, there is a meme where if somebody says "You just lost the game." or "GAME" (when it's a stand-alone word, it's usually in all caps), the receiver of said meme is supposed to have a feeling of disdain.

LOL ok, anonymous is a big BIG inside joke

I just broke a rule...

Take what they say seriously, because they don't take themselves seriously at all. Everything is done for lulz duderz.

I never quite wrapped my head around the whole "Anonymous" thing. In some ways, I think it's a bit obsessive and silly. Then again, if they're trying to help out the sheeple, then all power to them.

You have to remember that people mistake "Anonymous" as a single collective rather than thousands of random people doing random things. Sure, some people may do stuff to help people, but other people will do it for the lulz.

In a twisted way, 4chan is freedom in its purest form.
