That was my first thought-the cytokine storm. But you can get that with anything--could it be mono? Also I checked the clinical sites and they said that even a negative to influenza A tests does not rule out h1n1, and patients should be treated for the symptoms, especially if patients could be linked to other cases. And ps I'm in Colorado.

Looking around 18,000 for a white cell count isn't horribly high. Calling it a "storm" is probably inappropriate.

People who have had storm reactions to SARS or Avian flu have had numbers 10 times the normal.

CSL vaccine only requires one dose

The Australian company CSL announced today that only one dose of its pandemic H1N1 vaccine is needed to protect adults from the virus. The vaccine was tested in 240 adults aged 18 to 64, and it produced the desired immune response in over 95 percent of adults who received it. The vaccine does not use an adjuvant (an ingredient added to some vaccines to boost immune response). CSL is the third company to find that one dose may be adequate for protection. Chinese manufacturer Sinovac and the Swiss company Novartis made similar announcements last week.

Isn't it interesting that now they think it will only take one dose? Could it have been public pressure?

We started wiping our registers with alcohol every couple of hours this week. We get a lot of college traffic and there have been over 200 cases reported this week from 3 universities that are less than 100 miles from here. The absenteeism got up to 15% this week at my kids' school. There have been hospitalizations and fevers of 105F.

Tamiflu resistant cases are increasing-

WHO confirmed that 21 cases around the world have shown resistance to Tamiflu, a figure which grew to 22 with the new case in Australia today. All of the resistant viruses have the same mutation which makes them resistant to Tamiflu (oseltamivir), but still treatable with Relenza (zanamivir).

Has anybody heard about needle sharp like pain around the stomach as one of the symptoms?

I just found an "interesting" article regarding H1N1 that states...

"The global pandemic vaccination program will begin somewhere around the end of September and last about two months. Many countries are in the process of acquiring from Baxter, Novartis, GlaxoSmithKline and other pharmaceutical companies enough doses of vaccine to vaccinate their entire population twice. They remain quiet about mandatory vaccination, simply saying they will make vaccination ‘available’ to all on a priority basis. But Greece and Switzerland have already announced that their programs will be mandatory and enforced by the military. There are unconfirmed reports that Norway and Israel have done the same. The United States is preparing for military ‘assisted’ mandatory vaccination but has not explicitly declared its intentions to the public."

Here is the full article - WHO 'recommends' global mandatory vaccinations

As a reader of ATS, the night before 9-11-09 I made an evaluation of the swine flu that shook me to the core.

In short...the G-20 meeting is to be used for a transfer of weaponized swine flu/vaccine........!!

First.... google g-20 security..... a de facto martial law.
This led me to ask why Pittsburgh......why not Las Vegas....?? At least the G-20 could drop a few billion $ on the casino's there.....LOL
Second......google G-20 summit ...up come UPMC
www.upmc.com ...
"An integrated global health enterprise"
UPMC is THE HQ for the media at this meeting.....
Third....see Medical Milestones.....home of Jonas Salk, organ transplants, and psychiatry, and swine flu researcher Don Burke
Fourth ....timing......at the very beginning of Flu season..

Question....is UPMC Media Center the transfer point into or out of
for weaponized swine flu vaccine through diplomatic pouches for a worldwide pandemic, or a 911 type biowarfare attack on the USA.

Keep in mind that a 1% reduction in the US population, (which 4% of the world utilizes 25% of the world's oil) could reduce the world oil consumption by 10%!!! This would setback the alt-energy field, and free up oil for the BRIC counties.

Also, if developed in a deep abandoned Pittsburgh coal mine, could be easily contained with a few explosives.

Thoughts....we have motive, resources, and timing....
Please seriously consider this posting as we only have a week or so left to handle this.....

PAHO-

Dr. Jarbas Barbosa da Silva Jr, the area manager of Health Surveillance and Disease Prevention and Control at PAHO, said that 60% of confirmed cases struck people under 20 years old, and the hospitalization and death rates in younger adults were higher than in seasonal influenza.

In varius media reports-

Research carried out in Canada showed that nasal swabs taken from H1N1-positive patients still showed virus in their nose eight days after they began feeling ill. Reports also say that research showed infected people who started medication two or more days after symptoms started shed the virus for more than a week. It remains unclear of how much virus is needed to infect another person. The data behind these stories was not available for review.

According to media sources, advisors to the UK government estimate that a second wave of pandemic H1N1 will begin in the UK in October. It may come early in the month, with a high number of cases. Or it may be a later, mre moderate wave. The research on epidemic modeling suggests that future waves in previously-affected areas could be less severe. Close monitoring continues in Scotland, where schools have started week earlier than in England .

I watched the second episode of the Dr Oz show today and he talked quite a bit about Swine Flu. For those who have never heard of Dr Oz, he was the star guest on about fifty-five Oprah shows over the years and has recently been given his own network show. I actually have really enjoyed his Oprah shows and have benefited from his advice on super foods and natural remedies.

Today I was very disappointed to see him on his show trying to convince everyone that the swine flu vaccine is absolutely necessary, that people are going to be scrambling to get vaccinated, etc.

He then got the vaccine on his show, and everyone in his studio audience was provided with the shot as well.

Interestingly, he offered a lot of advice on what kinds of things people should keep in their home in preparation for this fall's "pandemic." His list included obvious items such as soap and vitamins, but also a month's worth of food and medicine.

I have always watched Dr. Oz, he has always given good health info

and natural alternatives, maybe since he has his own show he has

"sold out" so to speak, vaccines contain poisons, I can hardly believe

he supports them! this is truly scary! The sheep like him, and will follow.

It sounds like the UK is starting their second wave-

news.bbc.co.uk...

Notice they have reclassified how they determine if H1N1 is the contributing factor in mortalities.

I was surprised about this update-

France crossed the epidemic threshold this week.

Unpublished study in Canada says that the seasonal flu vaccine may make you more susceptible to swine flu.

WHO probes BC study

CTV.ca

I hope that this turns out to be wrong. Here in Canada the seasonl flu vaccine is strongly suggested for high risk folk like the elderly, I know my parents get it every year as well as my handicapped brother.

So previus vaccines make it easier to get a new strain of virus? This is too much of a coincidence.

Hi all,
I have just raised what I think may be an important Swine flu vaccine related question in a thread here:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

If anyone who is knowledgable on flu issues has time please try to answer my questions.

Sorry to pimp my own thread on this one,I only did so because this thread has the most replies, and I would like someone more knowledgable than I amto put my mind at rest.

Thanks in advance.

U.S. reports 572 flu-related deaths, 5,486 hospitalizations in past week

HOUSTON, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday reported that 572 people had died of influenza and pneumonia-associated complications in the past week, bringing the death toll to 936 since the beginning of September.

Meanwhile, according to the latest statistics released by the CDC, 5,486 people across the country have been admitted last week to hospitals resulting from all types or subtypes of influenza, not just those from the A/H1N1 influenza virus, bringing the total number to 10,082.

In an effort to add additional structure to the aggregate reporting, the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) and the CDC have developed new case definitions for influenza-associated hospitalizations and deaths to be applied for the 2009-2010 influenza season, formally beginning from Oct. 4.

This new system was implemented on Aug. 30, 2009 and replaces the weekly report of laboratory confirmed A/H1N1-related hospitalizations and deaths since July.

States can now report to the CDC either laboratory confirmed or pneumonia and influenza syndromic hospitalizations and deaths resulting from all types or subtypes of influenza. To allow states to implement the new case definition, counts were reset to zero by the CDC on Aug. 30, 2009.

.

Read the above twice and notice they reset the numbers Aug 30 so all all deaths and hospitalizations are from this month bringing the death toll to 936 since the beginning of September.
