Stay with it Red, it's better to out-fox the enemy with information and empower yourself with a plan.

I'm just waiting for troop movements tbh, then we'll know something is up. They can hide figures all day long, but when people start disclosing national guard deployments, then things will get interesting.

However, all this may be just a mild flu, and we can go back to level 1.

Does anybody have a current count of the number of school closings this week nationwide?

Also, I believe they have been saying on the TV all weekend that the current stain of flu is missing key genotypes (?) that the 1918 pandemic had and therefore could never be as bad. My husband, the resident optimist in our home, stated "See, you have been reading those blogs for nothing." He is indeed special!

Oh, I just heard that 18 states have schools closed, but how many schools total?

My daughter and I are now sick with flu symptoms. She is home from school today. There have been others in her school that have been sick but business as usual so I think it came from there.

We both have a fever, sore throat and sick to stomach. So far feels as crappy as a normal flu. Will update you. We are not going anywhere. If we get worse will go get tested.

Got an answer to my own question: 330,000 students out of school and I believe 530 school closures today. The report with CDC stated they are strongly encouraged that the flu is not speading like they feared it would. However, specialist stated the school closures were warranted because they slow the progression of the illness.

I think if you had "severe flu" you would not be up to posting a comment like you have.I was told some time ago that the difference between a cold and the flu is that if someone told you that there was £50 note in the garden with flu you would not be able to go and get it as you would be feeling so bad.

I would say they are going to go back to work no matter how bad it is!!

It is killing the economy so bad being completely closed down. I hope it doesnt really start firing up again down there. But I would not be surprised at all!!

I was convinced that even perhaps the first wave of the flu was going to be bad, or better yet, ATS helped convince me it would be. Now the CDC and WHO have done such a good job of convincing the public that "all is well" and "this is just mild flu--no biggie" and "yet winter ???????? hmmmm... well....that is a long time away so go ahead and fly, shop, and gather in large, tight groups " that I am starting to think if the flu is really spreading big time and deaths are indeed occurring in the US---they will look like absolute fools to the general public-- not just to us- here on ATS. Perhaps they will need to deploy the guards just to hold down the uproar of the masses if they end up feeling that they have infact been lied too. Just a thought.

Wow it is like news has just dried up on this?

A lot of people are saying this is all a hoax! like this guy? I just found him on a search of Youtube, anyone know who he is?
I am really curious to see where all of this is in about a week.

I was offering Redpillblues an alternative to the internet, when he mentioned the horrors of having no internet in his post.

I was trying to be funny with my suggestion for a cutting edge, next generation communication method:
