I've had the pleasure of moderating this forum for quite a while now and the quality of stories never ceases to amaze me.

I recently saw an advertisement for a new competition that is being run by the BBC.Several best selling novelists have written the beginnings of of several short stories.

Budding writers are encouraged to finish the stories and submit them.

I know that there are some good writers here.Perhaps they may not have thought about using their gift,Perhaps ATS has given them some degree of confidence in their own talent.

Here is the link:

www.bbc.co.uk...

Why not have a go?

I think there are at least ten regular contributors who could hold their own and probably others who have thought about contributing but just haven't got around to it.

So,have a go.I think you stand a good chance and who knows what new opportunities might be open to you.

Goodluck.

Ohhhhhhhhhh my. An exam and a essay I haven't started waiting, as well and increasingly angry fans, and you throw this at me? Choices, choices. Well, I suppose I'm in.

The only problem is which story to do. Any suggestions?

I've not read them myself yet.

Though I recognize a few of the names of the authors.

But I think there are people here that can give this a good go.

.......and of course we have the advantage of peer oversight if need be.

I would encourage writers to enter.I think this must be looked on as an opportunity.

It is a great opportunity for our talented members to fulfill their potential and use the skills they've honed here.

At the end,if successful, you would be a published writer.

That is worth more than any amount of ATS points I could give you.

The thoughts of a published writer exist long after death. It is the only accessable form of immortality.

Sorry to all the English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, and any other places I may have missed.

It's open to residents of the UK only. Poo.

How do you propose that I attempt to get around that?

I'd say that lying about where I live could become pretty obvious if I win or something...

You could marry my sister.

Seriously though,define winner.

If you are declared the winner because you are the best then you are still the best regardless where you were born.

But I will allow the best entry to marry my sister so as to be able to claim the prize.

Hold on I find a pic of her.
