the arts, what are we looking at here?

i am quite new to the idea of aliens, crafts, ect. so my knowlege is not great.

one thing i have taken a particular interest in is the presence of what does, i agree, hold a strong resemblence to space craft and communication of extra terrestrial life with humans in art work.

my confusion is with the fact that there is often a religious element to the pieces.
it was suggested in another forum that it was to make a mockery of religion, to "dilute belief in god by using religious symbols".


are the paintings showing peace?
to accept other beliefs?
maybe the idea of them being connected somehow?
