I read the article below about Jan Van Eyck's Altarpiece in Ghent. The Belgian author describes it in his introduction as " surrounded by mysteries concerning, possibly, the Holy Blood(line) of Christ... This also is the reason why the panel of the Just Judges got stolen, the thiefs got killed and the Nazi's were very interested in the mystic masterpiece...".
There are several different possibilities of discussion in this article from the Knights Templar and the Nazis through to the wherabouts of the stolen painting.
I thought I would just throw it in for the first person who wants to start off the thread.

The Just Judges were stolen 75 years ago... and they were never found. This is the Belgian Monster of Loch Ness, actually, with amateur and professional sleuths starting "true treasure hunts" and that sort of stuff.
