WASHINGTON -- Damn the tea bags. A top adviser to President Barack Obama takes a dim view of last week's anti-tax "tea parties," promoted by organizers in the spirit of the Boston Tea Party. "The thing that bewilders me is this president just cut taxes for 95 percent of the American people. So I think the tea bags should be directed elsewhere because he certainly understands the burden that people face," David Axelrod said Sunday.

www.foxnews.com...

Is it simply that they just don't get it....

I mean if someone could explain the benefits of the tax cut 95% of us got, because as far as I see, we are all broke, or breaking.

Let me just add, that I am not Anti-Obama, or Pro-Obama.

I'm more upset about the incompetent people in gov't that, pretend they know how we all feel, and they simply don't.

I mean I've gone most of my life without the luxuries they hold as necessities.

Simply, I don't care about the cut taxes, its the other 95% of taxes that were implemented, screw the income taxes. You can lower one, but if you raise all the others, you don't really help anyone.

-In the end of times, there will be taxes, and rumors of new taxes. Leviticus. (Just a joke I thought of, don't flame me for it)

Do you honestly think that a man living in a mansion, has millions of dollars to play with, and has all the luxuries in the world really care about you.
We only get the crumbs of the elite's table.

Are you implying that we at least get the crumbs.

Well then what more we could possibly ask for.

But thats not the point, i'm not asking for anything, I don't want a stimulus check, I don't want "Free Money", a limitless credit card.

I want the oppurtunity to get it myself. I want to start my own business, without the fear of taxes, or the endless laws guiding me to abyss.

Considering the fact that he's never, ever had a real job, of any kind, for any duration, at any time, just how in hell is he feeling my pain?

That simple-minded elitist couldn't run the corner 7-11!

And we wonder why everything he's done on the economic front to date is working exactly in reverse?

He's been spoon-fed by his grandmother, and enabled by his elitist friends.

I really don't want to hear him pretending to understand diddly squat.

Right I'm sure he's feeling about as much of our pain as Clinton did.C'mon if he felt our pain he wouldn't be putting our children and grandchildren in so much debt later on.

It really doesn't matter if it's Obama, Bush, or the Great Pumpkin. I laugh anytime I hear a politician that says, "I feel your pain". They don't have a clue anymore what the Average Joe feels.

Hey I spent over 9 months on a barge in the middle of the gulf of mexico. I am now sitting my happy ass at the house with no work in site thanks to the demoncraps. The oil lease sales are down 90% due to the government so a lot of people I know are going to be out of work soon. The sad part is I will more than likely have to go to africa to find work and to feed my family which the government will take 50% of my earnings due to being self employed. Yeah Obama I am sure You feel my pain. Hey I have an idea when I am traveling through africa your homeland and some little punk shoots me why don't you step in front of the bullet for me since You are so sympathetic.

did you people have teachers in school that taught you to do some research??

Seriously.

Here's a nice start

What is your definition of a real job ??? Hunting boars with your bare hands?

Barack Obama is a politician. Pure and true. Just like Bush, just like Cheney, just like George Washington.

Seeing posts like this one, ad hominem attacks based on ignorance of truth, that serves no purpose other than "boo whoo we lost the election" are what is wrong with this country.

And yes, it happened to the "left side" as well when Bush was in office.

Wake up and smell the coffee, all of you. Left wing/ ring wing, it really doesn't matter.

But A.) Stop inventing stuff about people so you have something to bash them for

B.) Start talking about the way things should be, compare that to the way things are, and weed all the other nonsense out.

Saying "obama never had a real job" is just plain false and a purposely manufactured lie.

Just like people saying Bush created 9/11 or Cheney is darth vader.

Grow up, get a clue, and start talking about things that really matter.

As you know, this statement is a complete lie.
First of all, a very small percentage of Americans got a miniscule tax cut of about $1 a day, about the cost of a small cup of coffee at McDonalds for two years. At the same time, he stole from the pockets of Americans, their children and grandchildren about $10,000 per person in stimulus and spending bills. Not a very good deal for the "average American". Furthermore, seniors who are paying federal income tax on their retirements got NOTHING, and yet are paying thousands of dollars a year in federal income tax, while some people who are paying no income tax are getting rebates!
That, of course, is part of his "share the wealth", alias socialism.

He must really feel the pain- I'm sure his back hurts from all the "jivin" he's doing at his million dollar parties he's been holding at the White House for Earth, Wind and Fire, and Stevie Wonder, at the tax-payers expense. Yup, he's really hurting, bending over to kiss the Saudi leaders ......., hugging Chavez, and making whoopee with Castro. Sure does pain him, I'm sure.
He sure is in pain, bending over to European leaders apologizing for the US for all those years that we didn't "earn" their respect.
His back must really hurt lugging all those trillions out of the US treasury to hand over to his crooked banksters and wall street thieves.
Yup, a real royal pain in the tush.

It's true the democrats aren't helping matters, and are making matters worse with their ridiculous spending of money we don't have, but they are not the only ones voting for these bailouts both parties voted in great numbers to screw the citizens, and this administration is not the cause of this recession/depression.

There are many factors, the fed for years after the internet bubble burst keeping interest rates way to low is probably the biggest. Then there is the financial sectors fraud and governments complete dereliction of duty to regulate them that made the problem much worse. Combine all of that with the average American's ridiculous materialism and it was a recipe for disaster.

Nobody, and I mean nobody elected president four months ago could stop the upcoming depression because the bottom line is the debt level is way too high and it most come down again.

Do not make this a partisan issue, that is what they want. This is not about political parties it is all about all of our government helping the elite take more and more from the average citizen.

Don't believe they don't know what they are doing either, they cannot be so stupid as to believe more debt will solve the problem of too much debt. They are lying to us all of them, they are simply buying time because they know that is the only hope they have of maintaining order.

$1 a day?

I believe it was closer to $2.00 a day, and when you compare that to our Stimulus check under the Bush admin, it's about dead even.

I'm not going to complain about free money. I don't care if it came from a right or left wing politician..... It's lowering taxes. I'll take that over raising them any day.

Under Bush - $1.64 a day or ~ $11.00 a week

Under Obama -

Obama says his signature "Making Work Pay" tax break will affect 95 percent of working families....

Most workers are to see about a $13 per week increase in their take-home pay
Source

Under Obama - $1.85 per day or ~ $13.00 per week

As i said, they are pretty much dead even.

Only now what you have is right wingers saying it's not enough, when technically speaking, it's more than Bush gave us.

But it's already our money people....we're getting a little bit of it back...Wake up and think for yourselves.

Yes, THIS year the weekly rate is $13, BUT since payments will only be for 30 weeks, still that works out to $1.10 a day over the year.
Next year the cut is for 52 weeks, and again it will work out to $1.10 a day, but the weekly rate will be 7.69 per week.
The "stimulus" is $400 per year for two years. Again, the majority of Americans will NOT get any stimulus. It's a sham, but you go ahead and believe that it's a big deal. It's costing you $10,000 in future taxes to get the lousy $400 a year for two years. When it ends, your taxes will go UP tremendously, because Obama is allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire, and thus EVERYONE, NOT JUST THE RICH, will get a huge tax increase.
You see, what you Obama lovers didn't hear very closely is that Obama does not consider letting the Bush tax cuts expiring as a tax increase.
You've been hoodwinked. Too bad there were so many so easily fooled by your man of change. You sold out future generations of Americans for a lousy $400 bucks for two years. Rather appropriate, since Holy Thursday just passed, and another sell- out named Judas sold out for 30 pieces of silver.

Hey don't forget his wife who had a 350k a year job that ended up being nothing for her to do but collect 350k per year.

I'm sure she feels our pain too.

Some...like myself do not consider a "Community Organizer" a real job.

It's like saying a street mime is a real job, or the guy with "The end is near" sign standing on the corner is a real job.

Sarah Palin said it best "Being a mayor is alot like a community organizer, except that you actually have responsibilities."

That quote was the best quote of the whole 2008 election!

Professor, I wouldn't have expected anything else from Fremd. Has anyone calculated just how many jobs have been lost from his extreme spending and tax increases?

I'm seeing a lot of businesses going under, which, under a far-left socialist government, would be the norm.

After all, why bust your ass just to pay a government, to hand off your money to another group of leeches?

I'll be cutting back my earnings this year and next. Simply because I don't want to pay a damned dime more than I have to. Since everything I have is paid off, it will be relatively easy.

I just may knock off work for a while and see if I can suck back a lot of the money I've been paying in over the years.

Maybe we all should. Go ahead and break this turdbag of a government. Then we might can start over.

Obama will never, ever get a second term, and I would vote for the devil himself . . . never mind, he's already in office!

Ahh, i see where your information comes from.
You are the person who thinks that by getting free money (in the form of tax cuts and stimulus checks) from a conservative, everything will be okay, because you dont ever have to pay it back

but by getting free money (in the form of tax cuts and a stimulus) from a democrat, that the world will come to an end and our future is hopeless like some poorly written comic book where Obama is the villian and Ronald Regans ghost is the super hero.

Please. Wake up and smell the sniffing salt.
Both sides are lying, my point was "hey, its free money, who cares where it comes from?"

Your point is "democrat money BAD"

Welcome to the club!
I still pay on a mortgage, but, unlike many, am in a positive position.

I'll take my $5.81/ 2 wks and invest wisely-on myself... hell in a month I might be able to save for a haircut.
That or just shave what I have remaining.

I just finished working a 40 hour week...my first in 7 months, and feel lucky to get the hours.
What I won't say is the amount of MY time I spent acquiring funds that the bloodsuckers in D.C. will NEVER get their hands on. And, I feel guilty not one iota for being able to realize the fruits of MY labors at a REAL job, for MYself, and not MY community. I have given much more to the community than I have received in return, and I am mighty tired of the inequity of that situation.

Obama has worked jobs other than Community Organizer, Senator, and President.

Anybody who thinks that the President has that much immediate control over the economy has been tricked. Plain and simple. They only take credit for it when it's good, and blame the other party when it's bad. Ironically, this is the issue that people pay the most attention to when they're voting.

Apparently, the MSM really does have people thinking that the President pulls the strings, and the economy will recover if we all just think happy thoughts.
