Suicide strike targets Pakistani army, killing 27

ISLAMABAD – A suicide car bomber attacked an army convoy at a checkpoint in northwest Pakistan on Saturday, killing at least 27 people near another emerging militant stronghold within striking distance of the Afghan border.

A deputy of Pakistan's top Taliban leader took responsibility for the bombing near the town of Hangu and said more would follow until the U.S. ends missile attacks into Pakistan's tribal areas.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani condemned the assault as a "cowardly act of terrorism" and said the pro-Western government would use an "iron hand" against terrorists and extremists.

We need to stop those missile strikes. Had we not use Predator drones, those Pakistanis would not have been killed by the suicide bomber who was probably angry about the missile strikes and decided to take revenge against anyone related to the the Pakistani govt. since its their responsibility to maintain the sovereignty and protecting the country. Don't you agree?

I disagree because I think no matter what they will continue to blow themselves up and kill each other. They can use the drones as an excuse but really they have been killing like that for longer then we have been blowing stuff up with drones. It's kind of like the pirates that say now that we killed 3 of their people they will target the US ships. They targeted them before we killed them so this is just a way to twist the story.

Why cant we capture them and let the courts decide their fate

I personaly think these strikes are designed to fan the flames for the fanatical muslims to recruit more cannon fodder on the front lines.If we havnt got anything to shoot at over there this bogus war on terror will end!
What better way to keep lemmings coming,all we have to do is stoke the fire more and let the religious brigade keep chalking up more tangos for our boys to engage.

we seem to drop too many bombs with no thought for the aftermath,and doing that in Pakistan could be dangerous

Classic example was the leader of AQ in Iraq who had his death splashed all over the news(no pun intended)when we dropped two massive bombs on his house in the early hours with SF marking up that building with lasers(clearly seen in the long shots of the strike)I would persume the SF dudes would have been more than willing to creep in there and drag him out for extraction-but no,just bomb him!
