I suck at decoding all this stuff, I'm not brilliant with politics and the likes, legal stuff, etc....
But does this mean that they can see if I downloaded a song illegally or watched a video that was uploaded illegally, and then come get me and put me in prison?

It bugs me that they can get info from your ISP's without a warrent through this, but governments were probably doing that long ago anyway....or just watching activity on computers as they pleased some other way as well....nothing new I suppose.
And the other thing that bugs me is it is one more thing that was majorly discussed and worked out in private.
Bleh.

you ever hear of a program called PeerGuardian 2?
what it does is block the known IP address of the people who look to see what your downloading...

Its free so you can try it out but I used to love looking at the reports just to see what agencies were sniffing around my ports

Still if your going to DL anything that's questionable you should be using that program!

I never download music or movies, but I have NO idea about the nature of many things I do download, like software and the likes...
This is why it's frustrating, I don't even KNOW if I'm doing something illegal, and there is SO much material out there and nobody really even cares. That's the world I got used to, you know...
So its like....do I have to walk on eggshells using the net in the near future here or what...
Last year the kid I lived with (his mom rented a room to me) got busted for downloading games illegally. The ISP warned him once and then ratted him out....wtf ....
Go catch child porn distributers or something, I mean, there's an endless stream of illegal activity occurring on the net...and we're wasting time and resources catching kids downloading some dumbass games....it just seems so bloody absurd to me.

I know nobody really paid attention to this thread and I'm guessing probably somewhere on ATS somebody has gone on about ACTA in a nice fat thread that I've been too daft to notice....

But so far since I haven't, just thought I'd update here.
