oh - you are relentless

and there's a part of me that really wants to cry Uncle - but I won't - I just won't

so, it will take me a while to work through this last batch - I have to stop every so often - make myself a cup of tea - settle my nerves some...

I will say - the title of one album: Under A Funeral Moon...well, that's just beautiful - I wonder if the music will be as poetic

but Nick - I find some of this to be confusing. Aren't we supposed to have a natural aversion to things like mayhem, gore - death...things...rotting...?

I can't shake the feeling that I might be missing something very beautiful in all this - that I'm just not looking at it the right way :-)

quick question - is it possible your Mr. Diamond is somehow related to Neil Diamond? I know it's silly to assume - but they are both in the biz

I find this style of music/guitar a refreshing change from the Blues that I usually play and dabble in a little slap upright bass some with a C&W crew.

Well, I'm not really sure if you'd describe Under a Funeral Moon as beautiful, but sometimes in metal (black metal and doom especially) the composers have a knack for writing really beautiful dark lyrics. And sometimes the music itself is what you would describe as beautiful.

This is probably the most beautiful peace of metal I've heard (its epic doom metal)

And the part about gore and death, a lot of bands write songs about that because they have a natural aversion to it, for the shock value. And as a protest against mainstream ideals.

and I'm pretty sure King Diamond is not related to Neil Diamond. King Diamond is only his stage name.

that was great timing - was so in the mood for that - right when I heard it :-)

beautiful

A little different from the other stuff I posted...

different - in what way? :-)

...but still good.

lol

yes - still good

music is funny - I like some of the other stuff you posted earlier

I have to be in a specific place to appreciate specific things - timing

some of that would have appealed to me more when I was still in my 'angry young man' place

not that I've ever been an angry young man - but - girls do visit there sometimes

I'm not as angry as I used to be - just mostly disappointed these days :-)

I wonder what we would pick as a good example of the "god - I am just so very disappointed" genre?

Many things that humans do makes me ashamed to be one....

but guys playing guitar on the street with such passion and dedication keeps my faith in our species. There may be hope for us as a race yet!!

oh whaaa - Dylan - of course...

thank you for this - because no one can conjure up a complete sense of disappointment in our sorry-assed selves quite like Bobby D

also - nice guitar :-)

Glad you enjoyed it

I came across it on another discussion board before, I thought that there probably wasn't much classical guitar on here, so I posted it.

Time to make another contribution.

Back in my 'WoW' playing days, the only band that felt right to listen to whilst playing was Amon Amarth.

They are 'Viking Metal'... in that they play fairly standard heavy metal... with a Viking theme. Pretty awesome combination in my opinion

If you can't appreciate the vocal style, at least respect the musical goodness that went into the riff at the start of this song.

Oh, and the best bit. From 40 seconds onwards you get... synchronized hair flipping. Pretty much the coolest video montage of metal hair ever made. lol.

Amon Amarth - The Pursuit of Vikings

Another metal song, but the last one, I promise.

Chimaira's Down Again intro is pretty much the essence awesome in music form.

Piano + 3 guitars = love.

Chimaira - Down Again

Ok, last one for the day.

Glam rock time

Australian band The Galvatrons are pretty much channeling a mix of Transformer's soundtrack synth and Van Halen style. They are the latest big thing in 80's music homage.

I'm seeing them live next month
But until then, time to check out their awesome new video.

The Galvatrons - Cassandra
