I used to claim how I hated the Monkeys, how they were hyped, over produced, manufactured for teens etc.

Secretly I loved them. The music, the show etc. In Univ. I used to have a GF and we would sneek down into the TV room at the student union bldg and make out during the Monkey show. Then get down to some serious business in my ford after the show.

I too love all the funny monkeys!

:-)

I love that - nice little story

making out - to the Monkees

wait - you actually liked the Monkees enough that you waited until after the show?

LOL!

you know - once you take away the hype - the production - all that - there were some decent songs that came out of that group

always had a thing for Nesmith myself - posted more on my profile page - had to make myself stop

almost posted Dolenz doing a little jazz number in your jazz thread :-)

They were fantastic... Played a lot of covers...not like them. Don't miss them when in D.

have yet to see them live whaaa - one of those bands that I always miss - and usually for a reason. It must be some kind of cosmic joke :-)

just had a conversation with a friend who was unfamiliar with Steely Dan:

again - sorry about the sound - but still nice

(couldn't choose)

my favorite - of theirs

Sorry couldnt find the U tube link, but Mick Ronson was a great guitarist, check out his solos on "David Live" on sweet thing and moonage daydream, width of a circle ect.
He had great feel and passion.
Bernard Sumner of New Order in my opinion is a very underrated guitarist, he is minimalist in approach but is very rhythmic and has great feel and taste.
Check out his later Joy Division efforts if you care.
