"...legislative hearings will be held in Austin on Texas' Tenth Amendment resolution — so far about half the members of the House of Representatives have signed on as co-sponsors of the measure that affirms Texas sovreignty under the Tenth Amendment and serves notice to the federal government "to cease and deist certain mandates." Meanwhile, Texas House Democratic Leader Jim Dunnam introduced his own counter-resolution Thursday, disagreeing with "any fringe element advocating the 'secession' of Texas" and adding that Perry's remarks were anti-American."

Obviously, the article basically puts down the entire movement. You get the sense that the author doesn't like this whole thing as you're reading it. I also thought that the counter-proposal by Texas Dems was interesting. Anyone know where we could find text of their counter proposal? Seems to me that this means they are trying to amend the 10th amendment?
