So I was wondering if there are any distance runners here???

Well to start out, I became one when I first joined Cross Country last year, and made it on varsity this year. So now I'm pretty much hooked on running. I am currently in my first year of track right now (I would of did it last year but I broke my ankle)

My best times are

5k- 20:40

1 mile- 5:50

800- 2:22

The longest distance I've ever ran was 14 miles. But I would love to run a marathon some day.

So feel free to post your times or any other thing related to distance running.

Hi,

I've done long distance running for 23 years both x-country and track.

Best times:

1km - 2min 23 sec

5km - 15:48 grass track

6km - 17:58 x-country

10km- 28:57

HM - 75 min 1 sec, ran that when I was 16

M - 2hr 28 min 26 sec

If you need any advice please contact me.

Wow, a marathon in 2 and a half hours is pretty serious. I'm sure I would no less than double that time (I look to run one next year).

I'm a big guy, but I was always really fast. The speed doesn't translate to long distances though. I always loved to run miles and miles, but I never did so very quickly.

I can do my short-distance times though.
40yard-4.5s
100m- 11.1s
200m- 25.6s
400m- 56.7s
800m- 2m6s
1mile- 6m2s

Haha, i'm certainly not breaking any records, but for a 6'3 220lb guy, I'm pretty proud of it.

I can't beleive there is not more distance runners on this forum. Guys and Girls it doesn't matter how good/bad you are lets just discuss the freedom that it allows us to have from our everyday lives.
