JUDGE ANDREW NAPOLITANO: Six Things You Should Know About the Homeland Security Report on 'Rightwing Extremism'

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) report entitled “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment”, dated April 7, 2009, which I have read, is apparently an unclassified summary of a larger classified report.

1. The summary contains few proper names, has no footnotes of any significance, lists very few sources, and is drafted with a prejudice against anyone who criticizes the role of the federal government in our lives today. It lumps together in its definition of “rightwing extremism” hate groups, anti-government groups, and single issue groups “such as opposition to abortion or immigration.”

My guess is that the sentiments revealed in the report I read are the tip of an iceberg that the DHS would prefer to keep submerged until it needs to reveal it. This iceberg is the heavy-hand of government; a government with large and awful eyes, in whose heart there is no love for freedom, and on whose face there is no smile.

So, if this report is really the tip of the iceberg, I wonder what would be found in the reports that are still classified.

This sort of behavior on the part of the government is reminiscent of what happens in nations like China, where there is no freedom of speech, more so when it has to do with government policies.

Is this why Hillary Clinton stated to the world, and the Communist Chinese Party/government that "no Human right is more important than any crisis"?

Are there white racist groups out there, and other groups whose sole intention is to hurt innocent people in the United States? sure there are, but EVERYONE who disagrees with the government on any issue, and agrees with the forefathers of this Republic. Anyone who wants to preserve any, and every right given to us by the forefathers, and in general anyone who wants for this Republic of the United States to uphold, and defend those very freedoms by which we were endowed, and guaranteed for ALL future generations of Americans, and those who dare to critizice the government are being labeled as being part of these same group of criminals who want to hurt innocent people.

We are being branded criminals, and if this leaked document is just the tip of the iceberg then we should find out what exactly is in those othe documents relating to this and which are still classified before it is too late, and the right to free speech, alongside all of our other rights are taken away in the name of Democracy.

i love Andrew napolitano. great guy with a great understanding of the constitution, sadly he shares a last name with a useless person in a useless administration. i wouldnt be surprised if more documents are uncovered where people are specifically named. and people call right wingers the facists. haha.

Judge Napolitano is great. He's been pretty consistent on the side of liberty for everyone regardless of their imaginary and arbitrary directional affiliation.

He's going to be on the Alex Jones show in a couple of hours. Most likely to talk about this.

Wonder why they didn't want "DO NOT RELEASE TO THE MEDIA" on the actual report....Hmmm....Almost like they didn't want people to know who the terrorists themselves were. At this point, in some way everyone will be on one of those lists but the actual people writing it themselves.

Yes, the Bush administration, the rightest of the right wing administrations...you were all being used, just as the left wing is being used by Obama. He isn't going to take away guns, or legalize the pot, nope not even close. It's going to be business as usual, the government will continue to be employed by big special interests and businesses who rob us all blind with fees and interests in their direct dealings with us, THEN they get their dogs (dem and rep) in the government to shovel the money the government takes from our checks into their wheel barrels of cash and they load it onto their private jets. All while we see half of our own country as ENEMIES, because they want us to.

The fed commissioned it. Mickey Mouse could have been President when the fed started it report. Makes no difference. The report exists. It says what it does. It came from the fed.

While in part I agree with you, you have to understand one thing. Does Capitalism really backs, or allows for a one world government, and one world economy?

Through the claim of "representing Democracy" which the United States, and many other countries have never really been Democratic countries, policies, programs, and laws have been implemented to dismantle countries, such as the Republic of the United States.

The only economic system that allows for a nationalization of banks, for a one world government, and a one world economy is the so called "Permanent Revolution", also known as Communism. In this case the STATE are the bankers, and the super mega rich who control the people claiming they know what is better for us, and they represent us, which is also known as FASCISM, because the Corporation is part of the state, and claims to represent the people.

In conclusion, TPTB want for the "Permanent Revolution" to be implemented because it is the best way to gain control over all people on Earth.

This was probably started by the Bush administration but could have been killed by Obama's people. No one will ever see the original draft and then the new and improved changes brought on by a new administration.

GW was simple, his administration just hated everyone. Obama 's is more insidious. They actually pick and choose. Everyone will understand this in a couple of years with some figuring it out sooner.

Hold a sec... Did you read the report? It specifically used the guy who shot 3 cops a couple of weeks ago as an example so it was written within the last couple of weeks. Secondly, the "left wing" report doesn't lump in political stances into it, it mentions specific groups like ELF & ALF and is "mild" in only really referencing "cyber threats" though these groups have been responsible for much violent damage.

Yes, I did read the report. The fact is Bush initiated the report whether you like it or not. They may have wrapped it up under Obama, but the fact is both sides were listed in the report.

Napalitano came out and said they are not lumping in political stances actually...

Ms. Napolitano insisted that the department was not planning on engaging in any form of ideological profiling.

And about the mildness of the left wing groups, they are mild. They are vandals and arsonists, they attack property not people. Terrorism is using violence against innocent people to push an agenda. I can't find any incidents in which the left wing groups have plotted to kill people. However, there are many elements from the right that have done just that, the list of violent attacks and murders by the anti-abortion groups is long, as well as the lists of many other right wing groups, here's an article from 2005....

We're all sick of the government and their lies and greed, we all want to stop it. But it's not going to happen if "the right" continues to act like babies just because "your side" lost the elections last year. As sick as I am personally of the government, I'm sick of people thinking anybody who doesn't lean their way is an enemy. Obama thanks you though, for making sure people will not stand as one against our corrupt government, and instead will continue the status quo, righties vs. lefties. Blah.
