Hahahahaha... Julia Gillard. Nough said. Looks like a goat to me. I don't see any farmers with gum boots and velcro gloves though.

The highlighted "pom-pom" on the left end of the animal looks to be a curled tail, much like on all Japanese breeds of dog. I have Shiba Inu and I have to say that looks like a red Shiba Inu with his white tail shining in the Sun!

Here is a good example for comparison:

Nothing odd there just an un identified large cat
