So what your saying K.K. is that since a few obviously uninformed people tried to turn this into a right-wing protest against Obama, that is what it was? So the majority of people who actually believe what they were there for and protest Obama and Bush equally along with all of congress and the house are *secretly* part of an anti Obama rally? You really believe that?

So, conversely, do you believe that the 1999 WTO riots here in Seattle were not a protest at all, but just a mob that wanted to break windows and steal Nike's? That's what I saw. Just a bunch of unorganized common thugs destroying property for no reason.

At least those of us who truly don't have our heads buried in the right vs left sand can see that at any protest or rally or whatever, there's going to be idiots that try to hijack the true meaning of the gathering to serve one "side" or the other.

I went to the Tea Party in Houston yesterday. I was happy to see everyone come out and peacefully protest the Government. I do not care what side you are on. Its the people that seem to jump to conclusions that there is "something" going on behind the scenes or The Republicans are involved or Perry is a Bliderburg. I went down there to support the People. I do not like what this country has become- it was once an American Dream-but now it is a Nightmare.

This didnt happen over night, this has been happening for years-we have just reached the Nexus what we are willing to take. It would not matter if it was John Mccain or Obama.

I had time to attend- since I was laid off a month ago and cannot get work. I have savings + unemployment to get by with for a while- yet I still pay my mortage, credit cards and put food on the table.

I do not smoke- yet I feel for the smokers since they have been unfairly taxed. I feel for groups of people that are being unfarily targetted. When it came to the Prop 8 in California- I would support it or not- depending on how the "People" voted for it. Made no diffrence to me if it passed or not.

We as a Country have too many divisons. We do not need all these Special Laws on the books. There should not be special "hate" laws when there are already laws dealing with assault and murder.

I am sorry that I drifted off point...

The melting pot of what America was is broken and the fires are being stoked by those that shouldn't have matches.

Thats' a very good way to say it. Great quote. Did you write this? I just want to give proper credit when I post that quote on my wall.

Anyway, it really doesn't matter who wants to say what about us. If they want to hide under their blankets and say we're a right wing movement, then they're the sheep. This is an American People movement of former righties and former lefties and is the first step in the march to put our government back into it's proper place. We are their bosses, not the other way around.

I am saying that is what this thread has become about.

I am saying people protested for a day. It hasn't changed anything. We already knew people are not happy with taxes, bailouts etc. The "protest" is much like this forum and thread. Admittedly, we all have an agenda. Do we not?

(I never spoke to Seattle protests. That is your leap. I'm not familiar with what you saw take place.)

I am saying I have nothing else to add but what I've already stated. Protest, organize, appoint leaders, collect dues. Pretty soon you become another flavor of the very system you oppose.

Our little "experiment" with democracy is in it's infancy. It isn't perfect. The real tea parties led to revolt and revolution. I'd rather fix our current government rather than invent a new one.

Moving on, think I'll enjoy a cup of tea. I didn't carelessly toss mine in the harbor.

Other than trying to derail this thread, I am not sure what point you are trying to make?

There is no evidence that the Houston Tea Party was set up by these people and they cant have set up every single Tea Party.

How is drawing attention to an apparent partisan interest in these protests an attempt to derail the thread? It looks to me like there's a lot more to these 'spontaneous' outbursts than meets the eye. Is it wrong to interupt this rah-rah session with a suggestion to check out the man behind the curtain?

The points speak to themselves...I'm just rather surprised you consider them irrelevant.

I think the info Johnny supplied was valid and interesting. The govt is going to try and infiltrate and control every aspect of any movement against it - it has the CIA at its disposal - don't think it won't use it.

While its nice to believe that the govt would not try and interfere and usurp this movement for its own benefit - its completely naive to think that it would not.

Mr Tide I can understand exactly how this must appear to the outside world, the American physic is beyond comprehension of those who have not breathed the air of liberty in a land bequeathed a birth right of a nation unique among the annuals of history; guaranteed by founding documents that represent the most glorious rhetorical work to come from the minds of men; persuasive in its enumeration of the limits of government in interference with the rights of the people it governs as granted by God.

What you and the rest of the world are a witness to is not some racially motivated uprising against President Obama, but the spark of liberty endowed by our Forefathers, further fed by the ones who have died to maintain it, burst into the flame of resolve to not become slaves in our land. We have determined that the United States of America will not go quietly into the dark of global subservience, dependent on no other nation for our national destiny or collective good; our independence the beacon of freedom to the world.

Not to stand now, would be to surrender without a shot to the very force of global fascism that American blood and treasure has confronted and defeated in the past. Not to stand now, would be to except the chains of servitude for not only ourselves but also our posterity, to our undying shame.

We stand now as one people to proclaim that we are not servants of the government or of the New World Order, it seeks to join, but rather that the government is subservient to we the people who will not kneel to our government, or any other. We stand now as one people with one voice, we stand now as Americans.

Really?

Well, you see, we are all better at voting against people than we are at voting for people. I don't know where these uber-representatives you speak of are going to come from, but we 'happy socialists' have 3 parties, and that small leftie one has no chance of getting in. You guys aren't blessed with the capability to form a minority government...that's when the little guy gets a voice and good change can happen. And it's usually courtesy of the pinkos...pension, universal health care...stuff like that.

You folks can have a Ralph Nader, and in the end all he does is pull votes from the anti-incumbent. I don't think you'll do any better the next time around.

There...isn't that better than just asking 'whose butt are you going to pull them outta?'

The anchors and pundits on NBC and MSNBC who referred to the Tea Partiers as "teabaggers" are hatemongers.

Hey KK,

I wonder how different Boston was back in 1773, the day after the first Tea Party? I'm betting that nothing much had changed in the city, except that there was a bunch of tea floating in the harbor!

I understand that the water in the harbor was yellow for weeks afterward. I wonder how the fish coped with all that cafine?

Anyway, I am quite sure that the pro-British newspapers tried to ignore it all, and there was probably some guy in three corner hat saying how the tea party didn't change anything.

Yes- I did. Sometimes the Creative Energy just flows...most of the time it is stopped up tho.

On a side note, I did notice awhole lot of Police both Uniformed and not. It just seemed like over kill for the crowd that was there (between 1430-1700). The only thing I didn't care for was the people that were on top of the buildings above and to the right of the stage. Not saying they were up to no good- but you usually do not see random people up there.

Governor Perry is an opportunist,Tentickles he does not believe in sates rights he and his people are worried about being beaten by Kay Bailey Huchison in 2012 he has been to the Builderberg meetings he's vetoed a bill that would have stopped the Trans-Texas corridor. He's a wolf in sheep's clothing and everyone who went to the protests may very will be on the DHS's "domestic terrorists" watch list.

Kay Bailey would be a mistake for Texas. Now, I voted against Perry in the last election. I voted for Kinky- maybe it was the hat-maybe it was his immigration policy. In the end it doesnt matter. Perry is saying things that are getting the "right" people fired up and maybe he is listening now.

"Actions speak louder than words." So Perry will have to prove some things soon. You know Kay Bailey sent me automatic letters when I called and sent faxes to her office about the illegal issue. We need to replace all these people or put term limits on all of them. Government is suppose to be for the People...not money hungry, tax cheats, that have thing for the congressional pages or seeking a friendly romp at the airport.

Kudo's to youTentickles, you did a great job bringing this to the forum, gives one a different perspective on the momentum just reading your report and looking at the pictures. Thanks for bringing this to the forum.

I have only read the first page or two so far, but how were the police reacting to such a large unexpected crowd?

The police were just there, the only action I saw them taking was to keep the guys trying to make a buck off the protest out of it. You know the guys with all the buttons and little flags attached to one sign?

Damn straight it's wrong... It's like someone stealing your great idea and trying to take credit for it.

Since the media (Unfortunately, what fox bashers don't understand is that people still watch MSM.) is a very strong force; for good or evil; it will be the dominant information box for sometime to come.

If they want to claim it's their idea they can and make everyone believe it. They are trying to be balanced. Their ratings prove that they are hitting the mark. Especially Beck.

Fox has been working hard at creating a trust bond with it's viewers. (Only true CT's will see that they have ulterior motives. Perhaps they will reveal them soon.) CNN is just blatant lies.

Off topic but related: Am I the only one that thought that locking down the WhiteHouse for a box thrown onto the grounds was overkill. Doesn't that show everyone, globally, how absolutely, utterly, knee-jerkingly afraid they are? Have you known anyone that has reacted this way?

Our WhiteHouse behaves like a drug crazed, beaten, criminal, in fear for it's existance. Everyone is a potential enemy.

Only people I've ever seen behave that way are people that smoke coc aine rocks in a pipe. Then they dig through carpet looking for more when the rocks are gone. I watched that at a few parties having brewski's while they smoked hard sht.

Back on topic....

Use a shrewd eye when observing the media.

Here's a link to the [color=gold]Nielsen Ratings.
