Hey there everyone! I just got back from the Houston Tea Party and
I thought I would give you my view of the whole thing.
At the moment I am watching CNN, and they are blasting the Tea Parties as "Right-Wing" protests. They could not be more WRONG.
The Houston Tea Party was in downtown Houston, three blocks across from our Post Office. Thousands attended and are still attending as I write this. I
parked my car under the highway and proceeded to walk 4 blocks to join the Party in a completely packed open air auditorium. Along the way I saw
people with signs standing on the side of the road, one woman was shouting her opinion to the passing cars, getting nasty looks from the police in the
area. My Pictures are large so click this link please.
After chatting with the guys on the corner I headed to the main protest and was blown away by the number of people there.
There must have been a good thousand or two people packed into
the small auditorium. I chatted with a few people while wading through the crowd. Not only were there Democrats and Republicans, there were
Liberals and Conservatives, there were old people, young people, black, white, asian, mexican and everything in between. People had even brought
their familes to join in the protest.
I am angry with CNN and a few other news networks for putting labels on these people. They are not a political party they are
frustrated Americans! Just out there trying to get their
voices heard! While there I definitely felt that there was a group feeling that we are not being represented in the Federal Government.
I would like everyone to remember it is the citizens DUTY to question its government.
Ask yourself this question: why does that now make you an
Extremist?! Because the Government is too big! Too much! They are becoming Totalitarians! They call it
Socialism now, but you know what it is deep down.
Please visit my Media Profile for many more pictures
of the Houston Tea Party!
Thank you for reading guys! I've added some sounds of the Tea Party to get you in the mood!

Here's the local coverage from the Houston Media:
ABC 13 Eye Witness News, Video and Story
Protest organizer Joanne Juren said, "I feel like they're deliberately trying to destroy this country."
Click 2 Houston, Story
"To let them go and let them go and spend that $19 billion on earmarks -- I get so mad, I could go up there and take them all and skin them,"
Pasadena resident Peggy Duvall said.
KHOU, Story
"I'm just tired of the government spending money and us not knowing where it's going,” said Stacey Brown from Deer Park.
Houston Press
In the end, it exceeded the expectations of even it's once-seemingly wildly overenthusiastic organizers. Approximately 3,500 pissed-off
demonstrators packed Jones Plaza for a warm-up blues-rock concert and harangues about high taxes, debt, bail-outs, and socialism.

Many people were protesting the bailouts the government has made. I am against them as well. Let me put into perspective how much the government has
spent since the first bailout.
Okay! Here is $100,000,000 Million US Dollars next to a 6 foot tall man.
Here is $10,000,000,000,000 TRILLION US Dollars! Thats 10 Trillion!

CNN was saying only a couple of hundred people were at some of the events. Kitty Pilgrim from Lou Dobbs was pretty good. She had a panel of guests
on and they all acknowledged that this is something that politicians should watch closely. It depends on who was reporting about it. Some guests
claimed that it was manufactured by the GOP and some acknowledged that all types of people were involved.

I think this is just starting. This is their worst nightmare. Ordinary working folks in peaceful, lawful protest. The greatest power there is.
Imagine if it were millions. By next year I think it will be.
Thank you for your work putting this together. Good job

Interesting...here's what I'm reading on the subject: Despite these attempts to make the “movement” appear organic, the principle organizers
of the local events are actually the lobbyist-run think tanks Americans for Prosperity and Freedom Works. The two groups are heavily staffed and well
funded, and are providing all the logistical and public relations work necessary for planning coast-to-coast
protests... thinkprogress.org...
But if you feel spontaneous and independent...well, go nuts.

I highly doubt a Mother of two with a part time job is a secret lobbyist.

That's ok...nobody likes to hear they've been manipulated. Given what I've passed along, though, does it strike you as reasonable to see if you are
being played because of your politics? I sure would.

Life is a game of manipulation, friend. If I have been manipulated, cheers for them at succeeding.

WOW! Look at the crowd! The crowds everywhere today were absolutely amazing. I had about a Half-Dozen such protests within about 20 miles of my
location, with one right down the streets, but unfortunately I failed to make it
I did like the action around 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue particularly well, when after having been refused permission to protest anywhere near the
Treasury Department, a defiant individual tossed a crate full of tea over the White House Security Fence. The crate smashed open upon impact with the
lawn, and out poured the tea from within. It was a purely CLASSIC moment indeed.

Great job tentickles...and thanks for sharing.
I was unable to go to my local tea party as i'm in some pain and spent last night in the hospital..i'm actually alittle loopy from the painkillers
i'm taking.
I had my audit the fed signs made up....and my "Greenspan, Paulson, Bernanke, Geithner should be in prison!" didn't get used.
I can barely walk and i'm upset that I wasn't able to go as it didn't turn out to be an all republican protest that many were trying to betray it
to be.
I hope there are more protests.
It was great to see that there have been no reports of violence or arrests.
The crazy gun toting people who want to keep their guns didn't go berzerk and kill people.
Crazy right!

No problem! I searched for a good 10 minutes to find my old camera! I wasnt going to miss this.
I was going to go to the San Antonio party myself but my car petered out on me and I had to borrow a family member's car. I was disappointed at first
but after I saw the crowd in Jones Plaza, I was just blown away.
With all the media coverage (CNN Is covering it now, with bias of course ) there will most likely be many more protests!

Why are they doing this? it's going to bite them in the ass in the end. Give these people their honest due and try to understand their arguments.
I've heard so many people being interviewed today blasting both parties and both administrations..yet they are trying to make it like everyone out
their is just trying to criticize Obama and Democrats...which they are not.
I'm sure there will be tons of videos of the tea parties on youtube very soon if they aren't up already.
