CNN Reporter at Chicago Tea Party: It's "Anti-CNN Since This is Highly Promoted By the Right-Wing, Conservative Network Fox"

www.mediabistro.com

CNN correspondent Susan Roesgen could barely get through her live shot at the Chicago tea party this afternoon. Over shouts of, "You're not a reporter," Roesgen quickly wrapped up an interview with an attendee, then said, "I think you get the general tenor of this. It's anti-government, anti-CNN since this is highly promoted by the right-wing conservative network Fox."

A guy in the crowd at the Chicago Tea Party starts to sound like a Libertarian and the CNN correspondent gets all flustered and pretends like the crowd is getting too loud so she is forced to sign off.

In her frustration she even blurts out that Federal Stimulus Money was given to Lincoln, although I think she meant Illinois.

To top it off she calls the crowd "Anti-Government" because they are fed up with the unconstitutional Federal Income Tax.

Priceless.

And Fox News is quick to respond:

Fox News went from being the anti-christ to now being the savior? CNN gets blasted by Fox News watchers. I am perplexed and somewhat alarmed that Fox News is now taking claim for these tea parties at the least and responsible for them at the most.

I was watching this when it happened. This video starts after she was talking to a guy who kept calling Obama a fascist. She asked him at least a couple of times why he was saying that, and he just responded with "because he's a fascist."

What makes me angry about the WHOLE debate, is that people are pro capitalism, and anti socialism, where as the best thing for the economy (ie the machine that keeps money moving so that folks can afford thier groceries and fuel/energy bills) would be a hybrid attitude, allowing one to earn a truely decent wage, without being able to become obscenely rich.
I mean I think anyone who knows how hard it is at the bottom, also knows that the only reason they find it so tough , isnt always laziness, illness, generaly high unemployment or even a lack of employment oppertunities. Its this simple problem . One person can command vast fortunes, and forget everything below him. They can earn more money than they can spend, they can earn so much that being taxed is more akin to being asked for small change by a bum in the road. THAT is what is wrong with capitalism. You get these fat cat bankers who left after the collapse raking in six figures a year in pension at the age of fifty or so ... six figures... thats a house every year to most people. Thats a full mortgage payed off every year. Who the HELL actualy NEEDS that ? I mean sure, I would love to wake up on bedsheets made of cash, and wipe my behind with bonds, but I love my fellow man way to much to allow myself to become a degenerate! All of you who are pro capitalist, are SUPPORTING that kind of debaucery.... why? What benifit does that have? Do you know , that if all the money that has been payed out to these bankers , was taken back and re allocated to the people who are now SUFFERING as a result of the crisis, that there would be no more crisis? I mean is that completely unknown to the majority or what ? How can ANYONE support the system, when its the system that is killing us and our ability to move forward, move out of home, get a decent wage, get a decent home, bring up a family in peace and without hardship?

I don't think the people were blasting her because they were all Fox News fans, I think it's because they are rightfully angry and she walked through the crowd looking down her nose with at them with a condescending tone and attitude, so the crowd let her know how they felt about that.

As far as the CNN vs FOX news; can you really be surprised that one puppet is working the people against the other? Reminds me of a Presidential Election.

Fox News is known by EVERYBODY to be a right wing government mouthpiece and is highly discredited. That's why now they are going for the liberty movement, they are trying to turn this into a republican-democrat BS, trying to discredit the movement, trying to hijack it.

Fox News should have been kicked out of there by the protestors.

The tea party is for liberty, not anti-democrat, anti-republican, anti-government, it's PRO LIBERTY and everything that stand against it, including government, republicans and democrats.

All of this because of that scumbag Glenn Beck and the new people who woken up believed him because they don't know what he did before. Even Ann Coulter, that disgusting witch is now pro-liberty! Doesn't that tell you something?

When Hitler becomes friends with jews, you've got to question his motives.

Highly discredited? LoL where are you getting YOUR information? As far as i know CNN and MSNBC are the most known for running stories that either arent true or dont have the facts straight..........care to provide some evidence to your claim of them being highly discredited?

Those who are bashing Fox are really ignorant and it's apparent you have not been watching Fox because they have never claimed to have started these tea parties. In fact, they have gone out of their way to say that the tea parties were started by individuals and not them, the media or other commentators. Fox has also said numerous times that the tea parties are NOT about republicans or democrats or the current administration but about the frustrations of the people.

Thumbs up for Fox for being the only major News organization to actually have covered these events. Most of the other media have ignored the tea parties or brushed them off as not being important.

What's funny is that if all these tea parties were liberals or leftists protesting the war or something similar, the other news organizations would have non stop coverage and be calling these events dramatic and the voices of the people must be heard.

Agreed. The neo-cons and fox news hijacked the movement because they fear the movement, want to try to shape it's direction and want it to be a partisan political movement so people aren't united as one against the continuing increase in government size and power. The neo-cons had a chance to reduce the size of government and fox new cheered them on as they expanded it, the neo-libs want to expand it also and have wasted no time doing this. They are just playing both sides against each other so people don't realise they both want increased control and larger government.

How have they hijacked the tea parties?

Please explain yourself instead of spewing talking points.

Are you saying they hijacked it by actually giving the movement some coverage unlike other media?

That said, I don't believe fox news is any worse then CNN or neo-cons worse then neo-libs. I'm just saying they are both strings from the same puppet master. My post was made to try to explain why this should not be about left or right. Nothing should be because the ones pulling the strings count on you taking a side and letting your side get away with more then you would let the other.

I don't watch Fox, CNN, or MSNBC as a general rule, but today I decided to see what was being said about the tea parties. All I heard from CNN was how it was a right-wing, republican, anti-Obama thing and they were rather dismissive of the whole thing. Meanwhile, Fox was saying that it was anti-tax, anti-spending, anti-big government. I went to CNN's website and watched their live feed from one of the rallies, I can't recall which city it was in but it was raining there, for almost 30 minutes. Without all the commentators you could actually hear what the people were saying, and they were all talking about how spending is out of control, we are just going further into debt, they want the bailouts to stop, that the government has gotten too large, and that the people need to regain control of the government. It was not a right-wing republican thing. It was people from all parties who are tired of how the government is running the country.

It's actually been said that the head of Fox News got kicked out of the Bilderberg Group, I cant confirm it but many this is why they have suddenly turned their heads against the government.

dam i was going to make a topic on this. that cnn reporter stooped really low and its sad that the protesters didnt throw stuff at her, but remember this isnt a liberal protest where people smash things and flip cars. just goes to show you that during this 4 years, the most left and most right things will be spun in the media even more so than during bush's years. get ready.

It's unfortunate you can't see the manipulation going on here. Fox news is putting focus to the wrong people within the movement and CNN is doing the same from their angle. Once fox news establishes itself as the ones who stood up for the movement they can shape the movement. I imagine it's harder not to take sides in the game if your an American. For those outside who have been watching it's all too clear your country is headed towards greater government control over peoples lives. What started under Bush is being finished under Obama and I would like to believe you will stop fighting yourselves and see your true enemies before it's too late. However over history the human creature has been proven to be easy to control, so when history repeats I'm never surprised.

Can it get more obvious that the "news" networks are politically controlled crap outlets designed solely to create division in the people?

How many will see it? How many will see through the facade and shout "no more!"?

Also, Socialism puts ownership on the community, no one in the government wants this, they want the power and the control. They're fascist by definition.

You still have not answered my simple question. Perhaps you don't know the answer but I will ask again. How exactly has Fox News hijacked the tea parties?

Also, how are they focusing on the wrong people? All I see is coverage of the movement with the people giving their opinions. Are you saying they should not be focusing on the people?
