Don't do much TV but I came across this via MSM tip off...

WOW

2:20 -4:40

This guy has lost it -

"Get em out of College --- Burn the BOOKS!"

I don't believe some of this tea bagger activity...
Where was all this rage from 00 -08????

I think it has been highjacked -

And

I severely question the legitimacy of the apparent origin of this rage

sorry

I know this doesn't represent ALL of you who are protesting - BUT I hear the same rhetoric here on ATS and on FOX...

You guys get whipped up pretty good with the old patriotic talk - JUST like IRAQ.

TERRORIST LOVER
UNAMERICANS
SOCIALISMS
BURN THE BOOKS...

What exactly are tea-baggers protesting? (an odd thing to name a group of people tea-baggers) It can not be higher taxes..as those breaks are being passed out right now. Are they protesting higher education...from the video it seems so. And where were these folks during the Bush days?

ALL great questions if you ask me...

Allegedly the goal is to STOP government spending and end or lower taxes...

Burn Books?

The reason they did not protest when BUSH was in was because they were eating the FOX Propaganda -- what is also motivating this, I believe.

I am amazed at the news today. Texas sovereignty and tea parties that in my opinion know not what they really stand for. It has crossed my mind that they silently protest the color of our president. Bush did so much more toward the ruination of our constitution and not one tea-party.

That very well be true for some...

And its true why didn't any of these folks tea bag BUSH???

IT's a giant temper tantrum IMO -

Yet when the young folks protest the WTO they call the kids terrorists...

I saw this several days ago shortly after it came out, and to be complete honest, I have a hard time believing that the video taper and his female companion were serious. After watching her other videos and seeing her comments, I pick up that she seems to have a sort of black and sarcastically quirky sense of humor indicative of the Chan boards.

She's a troll.

Her comments about "Burn the Books" were just a semi-in-character, semi-derogatory comment towards the crowd. However, it's not really much condolence when you consider that the speaker was the one who encouraged the perpetuation of insular ignorance by pulling your kids out of collage, and when she screeched to "Burn the Books" - nobody chastised or her reeled back in shock. They proudly applauded and cheered.

As for the speaker, I doubt he was any kind of a plant by "the man". Really, I've seen plenty enough people here who equal or surpass him in irrationality and passion. He very well may have been utterly sincere. And honestly... aside from the visceral imagery, I really don't draw much of a distinction between actively destroying knowledge, attempting to restrict it's proliferation, and encouraging anti-intellectualism and irrationality. The active and deliberate poisoning of the well of knowledge people like him, pseudoscientists, and creationists spew in an attempt to sow confusion is perhaps one of the most dangerous and destructive acts one can engage in - not only for themselves and those close to them, but to society as a whole.

Perhaps they did buy all the tea in China?

And 'tea bagging'? Such a lurid image that brings to my mind.

Edit: Kill possible horribly-misinterpretable comment portion.
