Don't know if you noticed but this Homeland Security report was supposedly put together with the FBI's help.

I've never read so much rubbish in my life.

You hit the nail right on the head... sounds like planned agenda to me...

Anybody see
"In Defense of Nation State" yet on google?

I'm not defending any agenda to help spy on American's, simply speaking as a student of history and economics.

Right Wing Extremism IS on the rise here in the United States. Millions of people are angry that their life savings are gone and, let's be honest, millions more are pissed a "Negro" is in office. A conservative backlash is going on, more intensely in the South, midwest, and Rocky Mountain states.

While the majority of this is simply private citizens using their constitutional rights, there will be your fringe elements that will use this to their advantage. Just as Hitler managed to use the Jews and Treaty of Versailles as a scapegoat for the economic conditions of Weimar Germany, it would not surprise me in the least if someone with the resources could get 100-200 people to form a militia in some kind of armed resistance.

Yes. I would expect to find more ex and current military in a right wing EXTREMIST group than a left wing EXTREMIST group. Why is that so hard to fathom? Military personnel TEND TO have more right leanings. And some PEOPLE (including those in the military) are EXTREMISTS. Ergo, right wing EXTREMIST groups will have more military people than left wing EXTREMIST groups. It.s really very simple math.
Now that I have explained that, I must say that I have nothing but respect for the American soldier. How they have conducted themselves as individuals in our current theaters of operations has actually RESTORED my pride in America.
Nuff said on that point.
Nothing in that report is any different than they said at least twice during the Bush admin in similar reports about LEFT wing EXTREMISTS.
And the FBI watching these guys has been going on since the civil rights movement and probably before. Hmmm. I wonder why?

“Has the Republican Party been partly responsible for all of this? Yes, it does appear so. But what has been the goal all along? The transformation of this nation into either a National Socialist state, like 1930's Germany, or worse, a Communist state.”

Although you try to start from a reasonable position you immediately take it to the EXTREME. Perhaps we should do away with social security. The single biggest socialist entity in this country. Medicaid? Unemployment insurance? To name just a few.
Responsibility? Yes. What’s left of the Republican party has a LARGE responsibility in this. When they bow down to people like Rush and make no attempt to reign in these rather LOUD EXTREMIST views, then they have a lot of blame to carry. Should we censor him? Hell no. Let him scream as loud as he wants. But when the Republican leadership not only supports his views but kiss his ass it fans the flames of FEAR. In case you haven’t bothered to look it up yet, that is exactly what fear mongering is.
The Republican party in DC right now is nothing but a bunch of pissed off spoiled children. How any average citizen can associate themselves with these people is beyond me.
And before you totally pigeon hole me. Gun rights ARE civil rights.

It stopped being America a long time ago. Our elected officials haven't been listenting to the will of the people for a long time. The fact that they are pretending these protests didn't take place is disturbing. I hear there may be a march on DC as the next step. I will definately be there if this is true.

Did you see ANY of this "fringe" element you are talking about at any of the tax day protests? There were none. You are doing the same crap the likes of media matters are doing. If you voice your displeasure with what the current president is doing it must be because you are a racist. It must be because it's a black man in office. I'm like Obama in than I am of mixed ethnicity as well. I am half hispanic and half black and I dispise what the man and the rest of our elected officials are doing to our nation. Does that make me a racist? My god peopel like you are the ones making race an issue here.

When did I drag race into it? I'm pointing out a fact that there is a sizeable population in the US that dislikes Obama simply because of his skin color. Is every anti-Obama person racist? Of course not.

As for "Fringe" elements, there certainly were members there at the one in my hometown. KKK, National Liberation Front, Christian Nationalists, and several other organizations were there, some officially, some not.

Ok, obviously there are still some people incapable of understanding what is happening here. Why all of the talk of racism? Um, I saw African-Americans at the Tea Parties!

The reason you are seeing an increase of right-wing extremism, as opposed to the left-wing extremism you saw during the late 60's, is because people are fed up!!! We are fed up with not being listened to by our "elected leaders." We are fed up with not being permitted to petition the government and have our grievances heard! We are fed up with a system that is rigged to favor a very few select individuals.

You see, the "Right" has traditionally been a conservative group - small government, limited interference in State's Rights, fiscal responsibility etc... As one can plainly see we are headed in exactly the opposite direction. Yes, the traditionalists are prepared to fight to take back the country and restore the shinig city on the hill!

Didn't see anything I'd call fringe at the teaparty in Portland, Oregon. Lots of issues were represented with signs, mostly involving spending and loss of freedom but also urges to investigate 911 and pro-labor. No violence of any kind or even, as far as I could see, rudeness. all ages represented. I don't believe it was covered on the 11 pm news on any of the broadcast news stations though. Of course they had to revisit old stories from previous days and talk about the basketball team getting into the finals so probably ran out of time.

I've always been aware that the media has a bias but it wasn't until this presidential campaign that I began to see how one sided it is. Since the election it is so one-sided that it's embarrassing to watch. How can they sleep at night? Ridiculing and dismissing these protests shouldn't surprise me but it does.

you know this pisses me off more than anything else.

in recent history there have been more viloence from the left wing than the right.

i bet most people can name only one extreme right winger who did the unthinkable to most of the right and that was mcveigh.

at the same time how many names can we rattle off about the left wingers who have done the unthinkable??

acorn i mention these guys because of what they did to the aig employees
bill ares
code pink
black panthers
the list would go on but i wanted to keep the post short.

just for fun tho :

you might be a left wing extremist if you beleive the following:

A left-wing extremist exhibits many, but not necessarily all, of the following attributes:

--believes the United States is a fundamentally negative force in the world.

--believes that American imperialism is the primary cause of Islamic radicalism.

--believes that the decision to go to war in Iraq was not an individual case of monumental stupidity, but a consequence of America’s fundamental imperialistic nature.

--tends to blame America for the failures of others—i.e. the failure of our NATO allies to fulfill their responsibilities in Afghanistan.

--doesn’t believe that capitalism, carefully regulated and progressively taxed, is the best liberal idea in human history.

--believes American society is fundamentally unfair (as opposed to having unfair aspects that need improvement).

--believes that eternal problems like crime and poverty are the primarily the fault of society.

--believes that America isn’t really a democracy.

--believes that corporations are fundamentally evil.

--believes in a corporate conspiracy that controls the world.

--is intolerant of good ideas when they come from conservative sources.

--dismissively mocks people of faith, especially those who are opposed to abortion and gay marriage.
--regularly uses harsh, vulgar, intolerant language to attack moderates or conservatives. . .

altho this one is better:

Below are top ten reasons for becoming a leftwing extremist. If you fit any of the traits and behaviors profiled in this list, you can receive instant membership in the party of leftwing extremists and become a candidate for membership in the ACLU, ACORN, MoveOn.org, and the modern Democratic Party. Please review the list carefully and if the traits listed fit your views, beliefs, or philosophy, then your candidacy is assured. There will be no score, since giving you a score would make you feel bad in front of your radical friends. Membership is free since the government will pay for it.

10. You receive the full political and economic support of the federal government. If you need a bailout, subsidy, handout, tax credit, living allowance, a mortgage with stated income and bad credit, food stamps, and any other monetary help, it is yours for the asking;

9. You can substitute propaganda for truth and still call it truth and factual;

8. You will not be labeled a left wing extremist, radical, liberal, progressive, or any other type of label; you will not be profiled, because those doing the profiling are of the same persuasion as you;

7. You can jump the waiting line for immigrating into this country and stay here for several years without being caught and still be a candidate for citizenship;

6. You can maintain a handgun, rifle, or automatic weapon and shoot a border guard and latter bring charges against the guard for being roughed up or shot at for attempting to escape. You will then receive a sympathetic ear from the federal government, be considered a hero, and have your false testimony stand in court for convicting the aggressive border guard and have him thrown in prison;

5. You can escape from being in the military and substitute unionism for becoming an average worker instead of being targeted and recruited by right wing extremists for preserving the U.S. Constitution;

4. You cannot be labeled a racist, xenophobic, homophobic, anti-feminist, atheist, or antidemocratic;

3. You will not be accused of fueling resurgence in radicalization and recruitment;

2. You would not be a right wing extremist who believes in God, limited government, anti-abortion, free speech, dirty capitalism, right to bear arms, United States sovereignty, private property, and local government authority;

AND FINALLY…

1. You can be a drone and not worry about thinking for yourself since the government will do that for you, also.

and last but not least the creme de la creme:

newsblaze.com...

follow the link to that its a good read as well.

mod sorry for the long post but if you deem it too long i understand if it gets deleted but i found it googling and wanted to share it.

Yeh but the whole race thing was kicked up by the liberals and those championing America for putting a black man in charge of a mainly white country. If they hadn't made a fuss about how great it was there would be a lot less people complaining about it now.

Maybe thats because the other parties do not treat them well. I know that is the case in the UK the military is overstretched and underfunded what reason would they have to be loyal to a party that has done that to them or in Americas case will do that to them.

Interesting thoughts earlywatcher kinda reminds me of Hitler's Sturm Abteilung (the SA) not really a good group to be part of once the government has used you to achieve their aims and no longer needs you. But maybe Obama won't stage a repeat of "the Night of the Long Knives" and will keep the CC even after he has secured power to keep the sheep under control.

Personally I think all this extremist claims and such like is a load of
. Surely being able to speak freely would mean that you could not be labelled an extremist no matter what side you were on. Or am I just being naive.

Till next rant.

Look what I found that was completely ignored by the media...

Report on Left-Wing Extremism

So, the DHS DID in fact put out a similar report to the one citing the dangers of right-wing extremism, except assessing the dangers of Right-wing extremism...and nobody paid any attention to it...the "left-wing media" didn't jump up and down, the Democrats didn't get their panties in a bind....

It kind of adds new light to this issue...
....and it was published MONTHS before the Right-Wing Extremism Report was published...

So, I guess all of that whining we've seen by the right-wingers was misplaced...and utterly unnecessary.

And BTW....in terms of violence and left-wing extremism...the FBI notes that

From the 1960s to the 1980s, leftist-oriented extremist groups posed the most serious domestic terrorist threat to the United States. In the 1980s, however, the fortunes of the leftist movement changed dramatically as law enforcement dismantled the infrastructure of many of these groups and the fall of communism in Eastern Europe deprived the movement of its ideological foundation and patronage....

Further stating that the only modern, relevant left-wing extremist groups still active are largely small anarchist groups...

According to the FBI, ALF and ELF are not Left or Right-wing extremist groups, but instead "Special Interest Extremists."

FBI Congressional Report

In other words, Left-wing extremists haven't been relevant since the 90s.

Ahhhhhhhh... the music is clear

The PATRIOT ACT...

Section -- 802 -- Amendments to previous definition of "terrorism" US code 3077(1)
and 2331

Interpretation of the law...

A fluid and debatable sting of words intended to guide, frame
and/or expand any legal debate by using terms, references, definitions and active or passive key words or phrases...

Law is not black and white -- Simply put much of law depends of who is passing the judgment, their views and notions.

AND AWAY WE GO!

a (A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are
a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or
of any State;

Now if you had to explain to me what the part "(A)" above meant what would you say???

What does "acts" mean to you?

What does "dangerous" mean to you?

"Violation of (WHAT/WHICH) criminal laws of the United States or of any State" ?

Do you see the quandary?

Now another example:

--`(B) appear to be intended--

Now the word "appear" --

Could the word "assume" be a possible synonym for appear in this context ?

(ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion

What does "intimidation" mean to you?

More importantly what does it mean to someone else or the government?

Now do the same with "coercion"...

If the US is headed for total chaos and the citizenry becomes "ANGRY" how might these
words be interpreted?

What if you are "suspected terrorist" and judged by a judicial body who is working hand in hand with possible "Fascist government entities"???

Might a government under siege use the full extent and widest interpretation of the law to quell any citizen decent?
________________________________________________________________________

Unfortunately these few lines hold a lot of weight and in the wrong hands could effectively silence our Democracy and any protest that may result!

` (C) occur primarily within the territorial
jurisdiction of the United States.''.

Oh,,, but this last line is very clear and not vague at all-

Seems like there is also some reverse psychology in play here. Personally I do not own a gun, have never owned a gun. I don't think I have ever even held a gun. But put all these restrictions in place, especially ones telling me I can't have a gun because I might be a political extremist because of some attitudes I have about living, and I begin to want to go buy myself a gun. It might be a deliberate attempt to stimulate gun sales so it can be said gun sales are getting out of hand, etc etc. It certainly riles the emotions and resentment picks up steam. I think this is another example of both parties doing the same thing: make the government powerful and the citizens powerless.

Since you brought gun ownership into this discussion, a few points need to be considered. IF this all degenerates into a civil war, it will likely be an urban vs. rural - blue vs. "red" - liberal vs. conservative conflict. But look at who either owns, or has been buying all the guns and ammunition - the rural, "red", conservatives. Aside: look online and you'll find out that there is nothing to buy right now. I was amazed to just find out that even "snap caps" (fake ammo used to practice loading and unloading) are now sold out and back ordered!
IF a civil war really were to happen and you are an urban, liberal, gun-o-phobe, your chances of survival would be just about zero. You'd either die of starvation when your super market is empty after being looted by others like you, those same people will kill you for whatever they think you have (as in Katrina), or you'll try to head for the countryside only to find the rural, "red", conservatives waiting to protect what they have wisely saved or can produce for themselves. War over and liberals reduced to a small minority. Chilling proposition ...

"Turned on the American people"?!

Where have you been, mate? The first thing they did was turn it on US! They listen to YOUR phone calls. They read YOUR emails. They open YOUR packages and mail. They put the names of little kids on no-fly lists, and refuse to take them off!

So turning it on American people? NOT new, and NOT surprising.

It IS disgusting, though.

Anyone who could be viewed as against the government was a potential terrorist. Now that the democrats are in power, the threat is from the "right wing extremists." The threat is still the same, the shoe is just on the other foot now.

Bush didn't put those powers in place to fight terrorism. It was put in place for what it is being used for. To keep the populace in check. Obama is just keeping the wheels turning.

exactly ......glad to see you don't fall into the stupid left vs. right trap crap
