lol this thread went off topic loooooong time ago.

I am not set in my views, I was just presenting other hypothetical possibilities. Just because I am showing you other angles, doesn't mean that this is what I abide in.

There comes a time to transcend arguing theology. You have just done that, and thats good. Thats what we all need, to go beyond the ego and the arguing. Die to "self" everyday

Really? Perhaps I see as waking them up? That isn't allowed? And, if you would be so kind, how do you know something will die in "them", when it could be a liberation, a birth of freedom from ancient fairy tales?

You can be Athiest all you want, shure post whatever you want, just dont destroy peoples hopes about the afterlife! So it's not liberation when you just lost your belief in God or Any Religion!

Still telling me what I can and cannot do, but no badge yet.

I think religion does more damage than it does good. You may have a different opinion. You're welcome to it, to expound it as you wish.

Hey GZilla Why dont you at least just say organized religion ....because I think most of us would agree that organized religion in this century especially has changed drastically from what it once was it really used to be a real group gathering where the Lord really was in attendance ..they were small and sweet ...but now they have gotten so big that they have become a corporate business or as you said ...they (the members) when they go and become a real part of it (with tithing and being there every service and even going up to the altar to get prayed for) they believe they have a sin insurance through the Insurance agency (the higharchy) and the Insurance agency (the higharchy) sees some very vulnerable gullible people and they prey upon them seeing them as their cash cows for the rest of their lives ..or as long as they believe their insurance is good for *(as long as they pay their tithes etc) We all know that you cannot buy your way into the Kingdom of Heaven ..THEY KNOW THAT TOO .they are just fooling themselves if they think otherwise ..............history always repeats and we are at the same place that the organized religions of the days of Jesus were ...just modern day money changers and insurance agents for the kingdom of heaven (NOT but they think they are) ...

I actually have friends who believe that when they are not doing the will of the Lord and they stumble and fall and their life is just a mess again ..that they can just come over and I will pray for them and God will forgive them because I am asking in their place .

I tell them isnt this alot like your momma calling in for work for you .....
And do you really believe that you can hold onto my prayers (or apron strings) to get a pass before God ...it is really sad if you think about it .
I do pray for them ..but not what they think ..I just say Lord thy will be done ...be easy on them ...be easy on us all ..as we are all weak ..please be merciful ..and may we all learn without too much turmoil (or consequences)...I mean what more can I pray ? ......

I have come to the conclusion that maybe most people (even church people and a lot of preachers etc) could not believe in God as much as they thought they did ..If they did they would know that he already knows why what who and how they do what they do and did what they did ..and that going through me like my friends do (or going through the church and thinking they can use a get out of jail free card because they are a member of an organized religion etc etc ) is not gonna make it any better for them ..
Maybe God could even see them as cowards for that ..I dont know ...
I pray for them ..But I sure dont see why they would think that GOD is stupid .......and does not see and know everything ..and that money worthless to him and your not gonna get away with all that you think your gonna get away with ...because everything does come back as went around ...Even if you dont believe in God ....I know everyone does know that what goes around comes back ..be sure everything you do is something that you do not mind coming back around at you ......

PS >>>everyone has a really rude awakening coming someday if they think they will not give account someday for the things they do,say, feel, plan etc .... ............

The open hostility to anything of God is amazing. What I have read of the responses reflects reaction to religion, which Jesus did not have too much use for either. Many things have been done IN THE NAME of Jesus, none of them pointed out in threads like this follow Jesus Sermon on the Mount of Matthew chapters 5-7 which details how true Christians should interact with even the ones who hate them. Jesus did not come into the world to condemn it, He came to save us because He loved us.

I was broken and dying according to VA doctors who had given up on me and Jesus healed me and set me free. I have a relationship – not a religion or church building. He walks and talks with me, I know Him, and He knows me. He saved this death loving, drunk and lost heathen and changed my life. I know He is real because I have seen Him heal and change the lives of numerous broken men and women just like I was. Sorry that some posters to this thread hate Him so much, because all He ever did for them was love them so much He died and rose that they might have life if they would just call out to Him.

Here's something that may help you. Nobody hates Jesus. Even atheists generally like Jesus. They simply do not understand, and thus they equate Jesus into being what people do in his name as you say. So it is not Jesus or god they really hate, they do not know or understand them in order to hate.

It's like blaspheming the holy spirit. You can't really do that if you don't actually know the holy spirit and know/understand the truth(why anyone would after is beyond me, but apparently it happens).

I think of this when the hate towards me gets strong. It's not me they hate, it's the false image of me they have in their heads they hate. If they knew and understood me, then they would not hate me.

They are just poor in spirit is all, no biggie honestly. They are blessed, make no mistake about that. Once they see and know the truth, then they will accept it and understand, and they will change. I speak from experience. Although I obviously still do not like the church etc, I do understand now and my opinions/reality completely changed.

I don't know Jesus, I only know the father that spoke through him.

And a little tag on in response to the other post by simply to being held accountable for all the things someone says etc. This punishment IMO comes after you learn the truth, as then you have to sit and watch people say those same ignorant things you did, and it aggravates the crap outta you. Such is a hell no doubt, I deal with it on a daily basis and it stings extra hard because you know - I once thought that way too and it's a constant reminder of such.

See....THIS is what I want to look into....
It's the people with the personal experiences, and the 'impossible' changes that occur in their life that grab my interest...not because I will jump on board and believe that what they say is true, but because I think it's worth thinking about, seeing if the same can happen for myself...

Some people just want to fight other people on religion, debate, whatever, but if it so happens that God is real, and say, for instance, that the Bible is indeed true, then that is beating a dead horse; because the Bible says that the wisdom of man is lacking and the heart is deceitful, so what is the point?
How about just go ask God....

I figure asking God Himself for some enlightenment can do no harm if He isn't real,(um you'll get....nothing, right?) and if He is, it's the personal experience that will matter in what determines your belief, not what the opinions of a billion others' are....
Everyone has their own version. It just gets confusing. Why not just go 'straight to the source' if we actually care to find out....and if it simply isn't there after some prodding, then...what have you lost? A few moments of your time?
Just like playing video games....lol....

This, also, is why I am a bit leary of organized religion...
Whatever IS there IS ultimate truth, and what isn't, that is widely spoken of is merely the concoctions of men...
What place do a million variations of organized religion have in trying to understand the simple old truth?
I figure if there is some ultimate power out there, it will make itself apparent to each one, personally, who truly wants to know. Unless...If God is just out there observing with no real give-a-damn about what's going on down here, then again, organized religion is meaningless, because why would he suddenly decide, ok, it's the end now, so I'm gonna burn a few of you in Hell!!...That is contradictory...there's no point in worshipping something that doesn't demand worship...

So therefore, either 'He' will or won't make himself apparent to you personally; if He does, it's got nothing to do with organized religion, but the fact that he takes an interest in each individual. If he doesn't either he just doesn't exist or he does but nothing of anything 'religious' concerning 'God' matters IMO.....(unless you believe in the whole new age thing that we are All God etc, that's a different issue i wont' go into, I don't know much comparatively, in that department)
People just use it to control eachother, the masses, the world, whatever...make money perhaps? Duh you all figured as much, so I may as well stop repeating it lol

I have never seen a debate about these matters get anywhere or 'convert' anyone anyhow, so this is what I feel, at the moment anyhow.

The father is within, I have no idea what specifically brought about my vision, or all the knowledge(enlightenment) I gained after, but it started mostly when I came to see that I couldn't trust any man, and that I couldn't accept what any man said to me(women included).

Not because they could be right or wrong, but because I myself have no way of knowing unless I understand myself. I look around, and I can ask a question in public, and I can pretty much expect to hear tons of different perspectives in return. How can I know which one to trust? I can't, I can only go off what I understand.

So my best advice - trust or accept no man, myself included. If you understand me, then great, but do not accept what I say as truth, you will still be ignorant even if right.

Also, seek and you will find. This means - ask ask ask. You seek by asking questions and looking for answers. But remember the above - do not look to other people for your answers, the father is within and will hear you. Thus, ask the questions to yourself and then wait for answers. You will get the answers in odd ways, and it will make sense, even though you didn't ask the source for that answer. For me, it came in completely random things. I could be pondering a question and then flip through the channels and I'll catch half a sentence on a channel that says exactly what I asked.

I've never been told anything directly. Instead, I am just given understanding on things. I am able to understand basically anything I want, all I have to do is ask. I know crazy things about the universe, creation and consciousness etc. But I can't tell you lottery numbers, whats going to specifically happen tommorow or at a certain date, or things like that. Such is not how the father gives. Prophecies and such never carry dates and things, because they are based on understanding rather than specifically being told. Meaning, you can understand that if things continue on a certain pattern where they will end up and so on. When you understand, it becomes logical and self evident.

For example - what are "you"? Your flesh? If it is you, then why do you talk about them as a possession? Even our souls we think of as a possession. So what is that is doing the possession? What is it that "sees"? What is it that "observes", and what is it that gives you that sense of "I AM?", the sense of "being"?. What is time? What is individual expression? What is "reality"? These really really deep kind of questions.

This is what I knew right away after I had my vision.

John 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

Good luck, wish I could just give it to you, but I can't. All I can do is point you in the general direction and tell you to look within yourself, rather than looking out there.

"Organized"? Disorganized religion is what? Each person taking his/her own view of the matter? Fine, no problem with that. But when people organize to take the science out of science class, they have step out of "personal preference" and the danger zone.

Lol, ur still blabbing on about this? Science is here to stay, its not going to be taken out of classrooms, so stop worrying. Religion is here to stay also, unfortunately. And those who know and experience God directly are also here to stay (the folks beyond religion)

running in circles mt friend. When you realize that you are not the part that "thinks" you are, and when you are aware of your mind thinking it is "you" then you will see that there is existence beyond the mind, logic, reason.

okay as being on the forth page and having the thought that this will never be read anyway this is what i have to say,

There is a god we most people in life have started to accept, even though what all we ave have through adds to somthing different. We as part as human kind except that there is christanity, catholics, hinduism religion all around the world, but we all except is One god is being battled against the other. Is this not meant to be the new world order conspiracy, where religion is war over the world. So everyone has different belives in the world about their own god, so what, i do and i dont even register myself as religous, i dont need the hassel!!!!!!!!!
I beleive that that we all have believe in something or someone!!!!
So who the hell i am to judge you and your own believes??????
and futher more, who is to judge me but my god!!!!
When will people wake up !!!!!!!!!

My personal experience started with an inescapable thirst to know; the obvious contradictions between the laws of physics and the observable universe left questions that science could not answer. Other questions became apparent when I became well acquainted with death; such as, when dying why did so many non-Christian men call out on Jesus when they came from atheistic, Muslim or other backgrounds? Why did some men scream they were burning and on fire, “Please don’t let me die”, when they had no spine injury and should have gone into shock and died relatively peaceful, especially with the massive dose of morphine medics had applied? Why did almost every Christian I saw die have a glow and peace that no other individuals had at the moment of death? Because of these observations I began to question my belief that is just the grave after death.

Then I was facing my own come to Jesus moment when VA doctors announced my liver had stopped functioning, my only other leg was rotting off and I would never leave the hospital again as I had about 2 to 3 months to live. These type of pronouncements get ones attention and give them focus I had to find out if God’s Word was true:

So, you abandoned science in favor of Bronze Age goatherder stories?

Why do fundies think this nonsense is at all believable? "...questions that science could not answer"? At least science is still ASKING questions.

Applying those “bronze age goat herder tales”, as you put it, meant that I have a healed leg, liver at 100% function, I am out of a wheel chair and alive when University of Miami doctors and specialist called in by the VA had given up. It also means that one of my best friends was healed from terminal lung cancer at the last stages and another with a T cell count of 850 in the final stages of AIDS now is preaching the Word with no signs of even HIV in his blood. Pretty powerful “bronze age goat herder tales” if you ask me. I’ll stay with what works thank you.

You should look up "cause and effect", and see if your goatherder's anthology actually did anything for you, or if you just got lucky.

And, while you're at it, can you tell me why your god doesn't heal amputees? I've heard them pray to have their limbs back, often in the bed next to mine in the Navy and VA hospitals. Don't work.
