A pretty weird video from ABC news, on the one hand essentially calling them fearmongers, but at the same time seeming to validate the idea these guys were right all along.

After what Celente said in AJ's film 'the Obama Deception' about the constitution and our freedoms being trampled on, this doesn't really surpise me..

Neither Shieff (sp) & Celente BOTH are right all along or they are not.. I'd like to see the exact statistics !! If they have been right, then what's the point in the video above?

The funny thing is, that when you are trying to make someone look bad, step 1 is to not show them being right about everything.

Mainstream media up until the bitter end of summer 2008 was still beating the great economy drum. These guys came out a year before that saying the exact opposite. Going so far as to be laughed off a mainstream news interview (as they show in the video) only to be proven 100% correct.

So, once they show you that these 2 guys were right, what does the brilliant goof leading the video say? Well, that people who enjoy "pessimism porn" get a sense that they 'know more' than the average person, cause they read up on the true state of the economy online. Wow I love this guy, and celente and schiff are complete baboons.

Maybe it is double speak, like in 1984.

Who knows what sort of nonsense this is, i think they are trying to embaress them into not being pessimists.

What I suspect is going on is that Obama administration officials are under orders to put out a positive spin campaign regarding the economy and the mainstream media is jumping on that bandwagon.

My hunch is that the bear market rally we have been seeing lately in the stock market is an artificial prop up job orchestrated by shadow government types in an attempt to kick start a real turnaround in the economy and along with that very expensive initiative is a big spin campaign coming out of the Obama camp that hey, look, things are turning around!

I think the truth is that this current P.R. campaign and the guys behind the scenes injecting billions into the stock market to get an upward trend going... well, I think it is one of those "nice try, but no cigar" kind of situations.

The thing the Obama administration wants to avoid is a panic stricken populace. They want to avoid runs on the banks and a survivalist mentality. They are trying to keep a bad situation from boiling over.

The mainstream media is either manipulated into putting out the spin coming from the administration and others in collusion (The Fed , certain interests on Wall St.) or they are just stupid enough to believe the P.R. campaign that's going on right now.

The phrase "pessimism porn" actually sounds like something that was created by defense intelligence or CIA. Look at how they implemented the word "insurgents"... they aren't freedom fighters or rebels are they? No, they're "insurgents". People think of the word "detergent" as something good that cleans your clothes, so "insurgent" has a negative, opposite connotation as in "dirty", also the word "insurgent" makes you think these bad guys are invading from outside the country and have no business being there. DIA and CIA create propaganda phrases like this all the time. "Pessimism Porn"... see how negative and dirty that is? It's a word game propaganda device to control your thinking.

Yeah, it's an odd one. I've not checked into their previous forecasts much. I know they have been correct on some things, I don't know how many misses they have had.

It will be interesting to see if Schiff runs for senate in 2010 as has been floated. With him, Rand Paul, and many others being floated for future public office, it appears 2010 could see a number of populists getting into power, especially if the economic situation does deteriorate as predicted by some. If they do attempt this push, we could probably expect a backlash from both the Democrats and Republicans, I would expect based on their lack of experience.

Don't ya just have to love Peter Schiff? I mean the man has cojones. He stands there before us, day after day, trying to warn us about economic truths (that can only result in disasters), while he constantly gets the hell beat out of him by the dirty black evil MSM.

And all the while, Peter Schiff has to endure the agony of missing his dear father Irwin, who is rotting away in an American prison for telling the truth about the income tax laws. As far as I'm concerned, not only is Peter Schiff a hero, he's the son of a hero.

I personally think it is to our own peril that our people are chosing to tar and feather two of the only people that have told the truth for many years now. These gentlemen have been on the money before the general public as a whole had any idea what so ever that this crisis was going to hit.
Mr. Celente is a "trends forecaster" he has been for many many years and what scares the gogo cheerleaders on Wall Street and the Gov is that he has been RIGHT ALL ALONG.
A trends forecaster is someone who watches how laws and public opinion affect/effect the markets and economy as a whole ; he then goes into further detail with hard numbers based soley on the current economic situation and spreads it out to cover a few months to years. He has forecasted many things and so far he hasn't been off by more than a couple of months. Not even some of the worlds best economist's can hold a torch to this man he not only know's people, he know's the market! This is why they are trying to get people to think of them as "dirty little men".
Mr Celente was right way back in the 80's and he was right back in 2005-2006 when he started trying to warn people that this crisis was coming.

He stepped it up a notch in early 2007 and tried his hardest to get people to listen and understand that the current system we had in place was in a pickle and ready to fall like a house of cards! Guess what.. it did and all of the sudden EVERYONE wanted a interview with Mr. Celente and then Mr Schiff in order. They had told the truth and where the only one's continuing to do so. The public knew it and the MSM couldn't afford not to report on them.
Now that we are on the gogo cheerleading team and trying to save a proped up economy before the bail out money runs dry, they must be stricken from the record. This because they have already trended the fall of the credit bubble and the retail sector due to the massive pull back in the credit markets already. (THIS WAS BACK IN DECEMBER OF LAST YEAR PEOPLE, ON FOX NEWS AND MSNBC)
What has happened since then? Have you looked at the interest rate on your credit cards lately? Are you one of the millions who have suddenly had their credit limits reduced or worse yet CANCELED? Even though you are a smart consumer and ALWAYS pay your bills? How many hundreds to thousands of dollars have been added to your mortgage and banking fee's lately? Guess what both these men told you this was going to happen last year as the bail out monies started to run out they would stick it to the consumer till their last dieing breath.

These men have told all of us all along that we where in for a world of hurt with this crisis. They said most of us would loose our jobs and there would be millions of people out of work by then middle of 2009. They tried their hardest to help us prepare for what our laws and crooked banking system had set us up for and we didn't listen till it had already happened and "We had HARD EVIDENCE". NOW WHAT?
You have gotten your evidence!!! Yet still sit and try and disect what the MSM is now feeding you. You sit and debate over what who was right about what and when. They where both right about ALL of it all along and if people had listened and prepared themselves instead of following the kool aid drinking Government backed MSM we wouldn't be where we are.

Now after all is said and done we are told that these to men who tried to help us risking life and professional standing no less; are the leaders of “pessimism porn” ! Good God people use your own brains and look around you! Don't depend on the media or some 38 year old mother of 3 teens to tell you how it is. GET off your butt and go look for yourself.

I seriously doubt that anybody told him that they "follow pessimism porn" because it "helps them feel smarter than the average joe." My BS detector went off when he made that claim.

I don't follow Schiff, but I do know that Celente has a track record that is simply unmatched. To dismiss his work as "pessimism porn" is like dismissing Paul Revere as having spewed "pessimism porn."

Personally, I can no longer believe anything the ABC says after the whole "people are too stupid to protect themselves" piece they did last week.

It is in their best interests to go after Celente with disinfo and ad-hom attacks especially if he is dishing out truth that they are trying their hardest to cover up.

It is a sad state of affairs when truth is your worst enemy. As I stated previously I wonder why "truth" became a derogatory word and when it happened we lost ourselves. Don't think it became a bad word? Look at the way some people in this forum use the word "truther"
