atv decibel source: atv.off-road.com...

Everything on the list ranges from 90-100 or so on the scale. Compare it to a concert

source: www.deafened.org...
(quick google search I know, sorry)

If you don't understand how sound works, here's another: www.glenbrook.k12.il.us...

Very simple. I never said I knew what this supposed creature does, nor did I say I knew his habits. I'm simply stating the logic that if an animal or even a person experiences something they haven't had recent contact with or know what it is...generally they GTFO. Ever been scared by a noise which you didn't know the source? I was only stating what I have learned from my experiences. Question my motives sir, do not attack me. I never said I knew what bigfoot does.

p.s. - as far as the weight approximation, I didn't feel like looking at the youtube link. I don't like to waste bandwith loading something else over satellite, they have a cap. I just needed to know how he came to the conclusion that it weighed xxxx lbs. vs. the distance viewed and height.... according to the background.

He wasn't attacking you, in fact he raises a very, very good point.

What wild animal does what this supposed wild animal did?

Have you ever seen any kind of wild animal just walk calmly in front of person?
Let alone one on a loud ATV?

Um no, not that I remember actually

But can anyone say what "actions" a bigfoot would do

Who can say, what actions a furry 7 fter would do

Well unless "Bigfoot" is not like a wild animal but closer to Human he could have been curious and wanted to see what all the ruckus was about and when the ATV came closer it decided it was time to leave.

I'm not putting much faith in this being legitimate though.

Well, we know a few things about them don't we?

They're extremely shy and have not been in contact with people for who knows how long (If at all). So we know they aren't going to go out of their way to be spotted by us are they?

Even a Silverback Gorilla is going to be very hesitant about such a noise nearby.

This is not my vid my friend, I was just sharing a find here on ATS

As far as the BF motives , who knows, maybe like a bear , there is a

offspring that the ATV is coming between the vid-ed Bf and it. Some off the

wall ATS-ers would say its one of the 57 types, I , like you, can only

speculate.

But to say this is not how a BF would act , is kinda funny, because we have

no idea "how" they act.

So you're not going to answer any of my questions then?

OK

There have been several questions brought up about why a "wild animal" would not just run away from something making as much noise as an ATV.

If it is something that is not part of the "normal routine" of the woods, most critters will be inclined to see just what the heck is causing the ruckus.

I live in northern NY and spend a great deal of time in the woods. I will guarantee that I see more deer while cutting firewood with an extremely loud chainsaw than I do huddled up in a tree stand during hunting season. They are careful and don't just blunder into the clearing where I'm working but can easily be spotted on the fringes watching what I'm doing. After a few minutes they decide that I'm not really a threat and go back to their happy little deer routines.

I have similar experiences with squirrels, which are about the most vigilant little fuzzballs out there. These are not your little frisky city park variety, but a somewhat organized community with guards that shrilly announce to the rest of their kind in the area that something fishy is going on and everybody hunkers down and hides until they can sort out what the threat may be. Find a rock or stump, sit down and stay still, and look carefully around. You will be able to see a few peeking out over a branch or around the trunk just watching you. After awhile you will hear them start to signal the all clear (a "chuckling" kinda sound) and they will start to come back to life. I've had them chasing each other around and run right over my feet.

So, I'm not sure how BF's react but I'm sure that there are at least a few that just want to see what the hell is going on.
