DOWNING STREET e-mails setting out plans for a vicious smear campaign against the Tories, which last night forced the resignation of one of the prime minister’s most senior aides, are revealed today.

The e-mails, seen by The Sunday Times, expose how Gordon Brown’s head of strategy and planning wrote to a Labour spin doctor proposing a campaign of unfounded personal slurs against senior Tories. The smears, many of a sexual nature, were planned as part of a strategy to “destabilise” the opposition in the run-up to the general election.

The operation was designed to target David Cameron, the Conservative leader, George Osborne, the shadow chancellor, and three other Tory MPs. The messages from Damian McBride, a long-standing Labour aide, were sent from an official No 10 e-mail address. The unfounded smears suggested: “Putting the fear of God” into Osborne by spreading rumours that he took drugs and had sex with a prostitute. Spreading rumours about the mental health of Osborne’s wife. Challenging Cameron to reveal details of an “embarrassing illness”. Accusing a gay Tory MP of promoting his partner’s business interests in the Commons.

OK, we know politics can be a dirty business, but New Labour have continuously plumbed new depths in spin and smear.
A good day to bury bad news

This pathetic excuse for a government have lied their way through office, and smeared anyone and everyone that dares to disagree with them.

If you are concerned about immigration you are a racist, or a little englander.

If you are concerned about crime and dare to mention minority crime, you are a racist (never mind that the figures prove the point)

The party that promised no new taxes, then introduced over 150 stealth taxes.

The party that promised an end to sleaze, mired neck deep in it since the moment they took office.

Champagne socialists engaged in their version of a class war - except when it comes to THEIR money.

The only reason this bunch are still in office is because there was no viable alternative.

Now there is, and it's time to vote them out.

What a pathetic grubby little individual - no wonder he managed to fit in so well with the Labour party apparatus for so long.

Well for the government of I.D cards, PFI (public fraud investments), and the faithfully “honest” Hutton inquiry; (plus doggy meetings with Media Tycoons) it is merely a reminder of Labours zero tolerance of respect for democracy.

Well let’s hope their image is improved by this latest resignation!!!
After all there’s not a lot else you could hope for (on their behalf).
Because if there image isn’t improved; then next the bugger concerned may well actually be promoted (because if there’s no election to be won, there’s no incentive for them to do the right thing either).
Sad but true.

And even some seasoned Labour MPs and ex ministers have spoken up against this.

And while our PM have written letters to those who were the victims of these smears, he has to accept full accountability for these actions. These people are employed in the Prime minister office and does the PM have such comtempt for the British people, that he honestly thinks he can get away with his statements that he was not aware.

The Government expected the CEOs of the banks who received taxpayers money to resign, even if they were not directly responsible for the huge losses, yet the the PM is the CEO of UK PLC and he fails to take responsibilty for the actions of these in his office.

But can we expect much more from those more interested in lining their pockets?
