I've noticed that almost everyone on this board uses google as their search engine. It's always being talked about here. Is their any specific reason why, do they sponsor us in any way or does everyone just like to use it. -Muzz

I actually use Google as my homepage.

I just find it brings the best results. Plus I like its simple design, not swamped with links and information like most other search engines, it's easy on the eyes.

I use Altavista sometimes aswell.

Well I like the homepage of google.
Very plain and streight to the point.
Goto Yahoo search, and links galore to confuse.

Plus google tends to give me relevent results first time.

Could one of the Admin folk let me know if they sponsor us in any way. If they do, I'd use them a lot more. -Muzz

Especially since ATS comes up in the top 10 returns (if not first return) on almost any conspiracy topic!

I must say that I was a die-hard yahoo fan until I came to this site, now I find myself going to google more and more. -Muzz

I first started using Altavista, before they were bought by Compaq/HP now its crap.

Then I used Dogpile a lot, until alot of searches came up 0.

I tried Excite a few times but found the pop-ups and the misdirected ad links to be a waste of time.

Then I found google, and google seems to return way more number of pages on my search topic.

Now I use only Google exclusivly, sometimes though I will check dogpile but only in rare cases and so far 10 out of 10 Google returns better information and is more accurate on the meta tag association to what I am looking for.

I used to use metacrawler which searches multiple engines, but I began noticing that the best results were coming from Google. Why should I bother with a middle-man? Now I Google first and maybe use something else to double check the results. Excite was OK but I got tired of the same junk robertfenix mentioned. Plus, when Spybot names a site specifically (Excite) as a "known threat" something must be amiss!

Doesn't anyone else here use alltheweb?

I find that I get better results than google.

There is also Vivismo, but that is just good for sorting.
