Your image must be resized to 160 x 300, no more.
Use image editor, crop image and center it.
Then, upload result to your account, then paste new link into your profile.
Cheers!

Hi bugsybond! I went through the same agony. It turned out to be the size of the picture I wanted to use. You have to resize it to no larger than
160 x 320. Try that before you go mad... it might be the problem.

That image is way too big for use as an Avatar. You can only use images up to 160 X 320 in size.
Here, I resized it for you.
Just use the following URL in the Avatar URL field of your profile:
htt p://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/15c196279de6.gif
Hope this helps.

I know what you mean, in theory..................................
if you feel a slight rumble and see a fireball on the horizon, know you did your best.............
thanks, watch and see...........

i use paint.net to edit images or you can use Microsoft Office picture manager (you need Office XP).
Anyhow, paint.net is free and it's easy to use as well
Hope this helps.

I just wanted to add that you can go to download.com and get a program called Gimp, it's not as nice but has many features that of Photoshop if you
want get fancy on your editing. It's free of charge!
