Just taking a look at the 2007 images of the Iapetus Cassini flyby, and got a strange cryptic message instead of the image file i wanted to look at.

The message reads:

'people on the streets will always be changing due to continual birth and agin'

(exactly as displayed above, agin is not my typo)

Here's the link (the image that produced the message is the very last one on the bottom right.

saturn.jpl.nasa.gov...

Does anyone know what to make of it?

Very strange indeed.

Is that the only pic that does that?
It seems to be part of a rhyme or song, tried google but nothing came up.

Hopefully someone wil recognise the line

Ok i found something more.

Esposito stressed that in the future Saturn's rings won't be the same we see today, likening them to great cities around the world like San Francisco, Berlin or Beijing. "While the cities themselves will go on for centuries or millennia, the faces of people on the streets will always be changing due to continual birth and aging of new citizens."

Yes the last "g" was dropped.

It's a quote of Larry Esposito from a NASA press release dated Dec. 12, 2007...

geology.com...

"While the cities themselves will go on for centuries or millennia, the faces of people on the streets will always be changing due to continual birth and aging of new citizens."

?
? not sure why it would be there in place of that particular image though.

[edit:
locster found it as well

Strange... If I click the image, I get it, and not that message instead...

Do you have a screen capture with that message instead of the pic?

I must have looked at the wrong one as the image was there when I looked. If you download this one and rotate it 90 degrees counter-clockwise, it's a beauty
I've been looking at it in a range of magnifications and my brain is seeing a 'dragon' and a 'derelict craft'. Throw in some coloration, draw some lines and add an arrow or two? It's a thread or a section on some websites

Very interesting image. Thanks

Well done for the screenshot locster.

It was strange. I didn't see it on any other pics, but then again, i only got up to looking at that one on page 5, so there may have been others after it.

So it's part of a piece on Saturn's rings? Weird that a single line should be in place of a link to the image.

Ahh well...probably nothing more to it than a wrong link. (still wondering why there would be a link to a snippet of an interview, but still)

Thanks for your replies folks.

Heh...coincidental isn't it!

A thread is started on ATS, then soon after, within hours - it's all straight again?!

At the least, one may assume JPL/NASA monitors this website.

Maybe they put it in as a place holder.
He probably just took the lines of an article he was reading and put it in to the code to remember were to put the pics.

They changed it very quick though

'Agin' is a Russian nickname for an illegitimate child, meaning ‘son of Elágin’ (a female name). It also means 'before'. So does this mean before birth? A previous birth? Heck! It doesn't make sense! So God help me!!

Cheers!

They did, didn't they!

Perhaps they have bots that are looking this site up down and sideways for keywords, that let them know where the 'editing' has slipped up etc.

Soon after it's mentioned on here, they get the heads up, and damage control can start to swing into action!

Either that, or pure coincidence.

Ever seen the film A Beautiful Mind?
"They" communicate via hidden messages in plain view

OMG!

It's a REAL message to you ... Just like ones that I've seen in fortune cookies!

Except you didn't get to enjoy the hard cookie crunch.

You don't really put that much faith in the technology that you expect everything that you do to perform flawlessly.

Even mission critical technology can fail occasionally.

Get a different browser?

They took it down because they are watching us watching them watching you
.

That's proof positive that ATS is being monitored, not that we needed the proof.

I have to say I like your avatar. Into quantum theory and quantum foam are you? If memory serves me right that's from Brian Greene's wonderful book 'The Elegant Universe' isn't it? Long live Roger Penrose, Briane Greene, and John Gribbin. Die scum Hawking, Michio Kaku, and Brian 'twat' cox.
