As I'm pressure washing my home today, I got to thinking about how I only own like 20% of my home, jokingly thinking I should have some bank employees over doing this instead since it's 80% theirs. Then a funny thought popped in my head.

If, a big IF, the gov't were to nationalize banks and takes control of all assets, they could probably come up with some legaleze making my property federally controlled, and as they do with many federally controlled locations, no firearms allowed. Wouldn't that be a big kick in the crotch. I'm sure it would never happen.

Well, back to it, one side of the house done, three to go.........where are those dang bank employees.

That's is exactly how I think they will do it. If the country actually does go socialist, then you can bet on them doing just that. Mississippi recently passed a bill that stated even under martial law they can not take our firearms. But if this happens, you will see gank squads on one person. Talk about oppression.

In socialisms defense, generally citizens are allowed some degree of personal property ownership.

Clothes, toothbrush, etc...

If the government owns the banks, and the banks own your house, then where you live is government property.

Which will make laws governing what you do in your own home easier to implement and enforce. No guns allowed. Smoking either. And no listening to mean conservative radio shows.

Even if you live in a fully paid off house, the government still has control over your sovereignty. Codes, ordinances, property tax and eminent domain not to mention utilities monopolies for energy services.

Does anyone really own anything, anyway?

Slightly off topic but
Sweet Avatar...
I have often pondered the uncanny resemblance of Obama and one Mr. Steve Urkel. I smell a VH1 'Where are they now?" special brewing. Urkel did have that special machine that made him cool. Hmmm Cool enough to be President? Possibly.

Great point regarding govt. control of personal property BTW.
