On this day in 1984 US Secretary of Health Margaret Heckler announced the HIV Virus had been identified and catalogued.

So I ask everyone to comment on how far weve come in 20 years, and what remains to be done.

What remains to be done is obviously find a cure, which i doubt will ever happend. If it does happend only the rich and famous will be able to afford it. I hate the FDA and all thier lies.

The main thing that I believe that is different now?

20 years ago the gay community realized that HIV wasn't going to be given serious attention until it became a desease affecting the hetero population as well.

20 years later, its now a desease affecting both lifestyles. Mission accomplished , I guess.
