John Holdren told the Associated Press in his first interview since being confirmed last month that the idea of geoengineering the climate is being discussed. One such extreme option includes shooting pollution particles into the upper atmosphere to reflect the sun's rays. Mr. Holdren said such an experimental measure would only be used as a last resort.

But Mr. Holdren noted that shooting particles into the air -- making an artificial volcano as one Nobel laureate has suggested -- could have grave side effects and would not completely solve all the problems from soaring greenhouse gas emissions. So such actions could not be taken lightly, he said.

[sarcasm]I have an idea...
What if you could fit jetliners with canisters of chemicals which could release their contents into the atmosphere as the jets fly around the globe? I imagine it may look a lot like contrails. [/sarcasm]

Is this the ptb realizing that people are catching on?

It's frightening to think that in order to deal with the problem created by pollution we would in turn pollute even more. You would think that with all the great minds in the world someone could come up with a more viable solution. It probably all comes down to money at the end of the day, rather than do something now when it's probably too late anyway politicians will wait until catastrophe overwhelms us.
