I never said it was going to happen. The article never said it was going to happen. We all understand it is something that they are considering. It just seems like something you should take off the list, because its probably not a very good idea.

This should not even be news. If he weren't considering all options, you all would be tearing him up for that.

Get off the MSM propaganda bandwagon and think critically for yourself.

Obama /U.S. better not be able to take action unilaterally that will have consequences globally. I mean I know that's what the U.S. does best, but come on! This has such far-reaching and irreversible consequences if they are wrong. That's a bit too much change for me.

Personally I dont even think he should be a bit concerned by global warming because its a farce. One volcano can spew out more CO2 in a day then every car and factory on the planet can. Too bad we cant tax volcanoes.

Can we clean up the environment a bit and try to be a little more responsible in the process? Sure. Do we need to go apecrap and wreck the world economy trying to reduce carbon emissions.. probably not.

He should be worrying about the economy and what his spending is going to do to our nation in the long term, instead of chasing after the carbon phantom.

As far as the MSM goes, it is one source of info. Just like the internet is another source of info. Just like observing what is going on around you and applying common sense is another source of info. If you just get your news from a bunch of conspiracy sites you are missing part of the picture.

Blocking the suns rays is certain doom for us and will bring an ice age.

We are in a solar minimum and it is getting colder. Hence the record cold winter we have seen this year.

The sunspots yesterday:

Another ting I do not understand is, plants use carbon dioxide for photosynthesis. Would this not bring abundant plant life and in turn equal out the atmosphere with more oxygen. Oh yeah that's why they have been destroying the forest, so this is not an option.

Obama is a stooge. Will say anything.

You mean like others do before they read articles and get all the facts and just blurt out something because they're blindly biased?

Could you explain a bit. I am assuming since there are no sunspots on your pic that means there will be an ice age.. but can you explain why that is?

This does bring out a point. We cannot predict the future of the global climate and the impact of the sun and our behaviors on it. If TimeWalker is right and we are headed to an ice age, then blocking sun rays is just going to make it worse. Plus, I just dont trust any government to decide how and why we should change the global climate intentionally. They dont have the best track record for making good decisions.

Thanks for updating your post TimeWalker, or maybe I was blind and didnt see the info in the first place.

Why have sunblock when you can have Chemtrails, they block the sun all the time and I'm from the UK. Not like we get much sun anyway plus recent years it has been rainning all summer with flooding.

Well, let's look at Barack Hussein's track record so far...

His cabinet post nominations backed out by the truckload for a variety of embarrassing reasons, including tax fraud — apparently, Obama and his transition team couldn't vet these nominees to spare his new administration one indignity after another. So we can confidently assume that the new president's intelligence sources suck and he can't delegate authority worth a crap.

After slamming the cronyism of the Bush administration during the 2008 campaign, Barack Hussein successfully pushed for a juggernaut "economic stimulus package" that poured billions of dollars directly into the coffers of ACORN, Obama's favorite community action organization that shamelessly perpetrated voter registration fraud throughout the campaign. So we know the new president is a two-faced panderer.

In addition to signing into law the least-understood and most-heavily-earmarked bill to ever come out of Congress, Obama managed to rob American taxpayers of nearly 4 trillion dollars before his first 100 days in office — which has got to be some kind of record. Confidence in the economy continues to plummet as the jobless rate heads into double-digits. We can, therefore, safely say that the new president knows even less about economic stimulus than did the moronic Bush administration.

On his first international tour, Barack Hussein repeatedly embarrassed himself and America with his tacky gifts to world leaders (not to mention his wife's super-tacky wardrobe), and wrapped up the G20 Summit by badmouthing his own country in a mortifying attempt to "bond" with European socialists. He came away from his excursion even less respected than when he started. This amply demonstrates that Obama is a rank amateur at diplomacy and foreign policy.

And these are just the highlights of his first 100 days in office.

So... Why in the Hell should we believe, much less have confidence in, Obama's idiotic "options" for saving the world's climate? If his scientific advisers are anywhere near as "competent" as his other advisers, then we may as well ignore them.

TimeWalker is right. More C02 would increase plant life. So maybe if we want to tinker with things, we should find some the best plant life that can grow quickly and convert the most CO2 into oxygen and take that route. That seems a little bit safer than just spraying a bunch of chemicals all over the earth and taxing the hell out of everyone.

No, it does not mean we are heading for an ice age. Just in a minimum of a cycle. I am no expert so I will cut and paste.

Solar minimum is the period of least solar activity in the solar cycle of the sun. During this time, sunspot and solar flare activity diminishes, and often does not occur for days at a time. The date of the minimum is described by a smoothed average over 12 months of sunspot activity, so identifying the date of the solar minimum usually can only happen 6 months after the minimum takes place. Solar minimum is contrasted with the solar maximum, where there may be hundreds of sunspots.

Solar minimums and maximums are the two extremes of the sun's 11-year activity cycle. At a maximum, the sun is peppered with sunspots, solar flares erupt, and the sun hurls billion-ton clouds of electrified gas into space.

Ok got you. Thanks for the info on the Sun. I am the first to admit I dont know everything.

If I remember correctly, when we began to see the temperatures around the earth increase, it was during a time of Solar Maximum. During this time the whole Solar System was heating up. Is that correct?

If so, can the worlds governments call up the sun and ask it to not get so hot anymore (nor to cold), or do they need to create a tax to build a phone system to the sun in order to make the call?

Or, should we just realize that stuff happens in our solar system and in our universe that we cant control and not turn everything into some giant crisis that means the end of the world as we know it? Is that asking too much?

These so called scientists are incredibly stupid. The costs to construct a sun blocker is improbable. This is on another thread somewhere, but I mentioned what could they do with the costs that it would require to construct a sun blocker, I said we could rebuild our civilization with that money, and someone added that we could terraform Mars at that too.

The cost is simply impossible, which makes me think this is more like a scam, like carbon taxes or bailouts for banks or automakers.

Besides what would they use with a sun blocker- Make like Mr. Burns of Simpsons fame, and block out the sun so we would have to pay them to provide nuclear energy to power our world
Do or die, folks.

Don't give us money or challenge the class system that favors the wealthy and connected? No free sunshine for you!

Scientists always think they can swim against the current, but the answer is to swim parallel to the shore to escape the current.

What I'm saying to these so called scientists is to leave nature alone, and don't think it can be defeated and instead find workarounds, like constructing houses on long stilts, finding a cure for skin cancer, etc.

This world is nuts. Instead of logical scientists we have illogical scientists.

Will Obama and the Clinton influence leave gates wide open so much so that once the next president comes in America will have to face a lot of enemies coming from inside America, stealth Sharia laws being introduced, open doors to nuclear weapons in which Iran and Pakistan will have under extreamists ideologies. Open visa's for terrorists who pose as students and countless open doors of insecurity.

I have the most amazing idea for a bit of art I'd do for this. I'd draw obama standing proud, chin up, standing strong, in front of the sun, and the suns rays are escaping from behind him. Underneath him will read "An Ego To End Global Warming"

I really hope this does not turn into a viable option. The first thing that came to my mind when I read the headline was here comes the ice age. Not that I would mind an ice age much, as I hate the heat more than anything else and I am quite certain I could at least marginally exist. My wife on the other hand is a tropical princess
. She would wilt and die or at least nag me to death. So on second thought, I do mind an ice age.

It would be rather funny if BO was left with the legacy of having turned the planet into an ice cube.

I do not think this will come to fruition. At least not if they are serious about pusing the solar power.

Why do people keep ontop of this global warming BS, its been proved over and over again before and after the inconvenient Gore that the process of our planet heating up is "seasonal" for a better word altho over thousands and so of years, Co2 has been proven with evidence left in the ice, not to increase heat temperatures over the planet, infact its quite the opposite where by the heat increases the Co2, a simple bit of research would provide this information without any "inconvenient" nonsense.

You the people, and everyone else over seas needs to stand up to this BS, dont fall for the carbon tax as next it will be the poop tax, toe nail tax, hair cut tax. Can people start to see the logic behind this attack on the entire worlds liberties.

Does anyone see the parallel between what is being discussed and chemtrails? I don't trust the government spraying anything over our skies.

I must admit i see your point and i dont trust either, i personally noted a day or so ago the amount of 'con' trails in the sky which simply didnt evaporate as they should, infact they lingered for the entire day and through to the night, wind moved them on but others came in with that wind.

I've gone out in the late evening/night time to see what i can only describe as a blizzard of mist if you can get my meaning, ive never seen this type of mist before, you could literaly see the particles of 'mist' swirling around in the slight of breeze.

I do feel that they are using such techniques not only to dumb people down (which has been proven to an extent by examining the materials in the collected (haze) 'air' samples, and also as an excuse to circumvent their perception of whats causing global warming.

Fact is this, were about to enter a new age, an age that was documented by the mayans which before it comes about there will be a great purge, the mayans fore saw their own death and destruction long before it actually occured, thus if this is true the only salvation we have is appr 1 mile or preferably more below the surface to survive the ensuing super solar flares coming soon to a 2012 near you (or maybe 2011, who knows)!
